: Wanna dyno the VE next weekedn but.......
TREYDEE 08-09-2007, 10:21 AM My rpm and speedo don't work, I know I need a speedo cable but how do In get the rpms to work?????? I thought the speedo cable also controlled the rpms????
I wanna get this taken care of by next weekend if possible, just need some input on what to do to fix it, Thanks!!!
But if I don't get it fixed, they should be able to tell me when to let off, while on the dyno right????
Andreas Miko 08-09-2007, 10:27 AM You will be fine. These dont need to work to dyno the car
se-riousclassic 08-09-2007, 10:28 AM the rpm gauge via a wire from the dizzy to the gauge cluster is electronic and the speedo your talking about either has a cable or electronic as well. Do you have a b13 or b14? B13's with highports had a cable for the speedo and I think all lowports have the electronic speed sensor. Check your fuses.

its a 92 NX
Hey man, what cluster is in that car? I know one of the prior owners was trying to do the digital NX1600 gauge swap, so I am sure that is why it is not working.
Maybe the writeup can shed some light on why it is not working

Serban 08-09-2007, 11:04 AM Trey, you will need to get the tach working for this dyno. The way they do it is you hold the car at a certain rpm 3k for example, and they sync the dyno to measure that its at the same rpm.
Guess an easy way to do it would be to set the msd switch to 3k for example, and when you hear the cams kick in, you know thats where they start, then change it back to what you normally have it set to.

jen36 08-09-2007, 12:58 PM another way to tell were your rpms is at is to buy one of them timing guns that have the diffrent functions... the one i have reads the rpms and that is how i set my idel when i was messing with it
HkSBlueBird4u 08-09-2007, 01:47 PM s-afc reads rpms!!
