I was just wondering if anyone knows the top speed approx on a 91 NX1600 (Stock)

Well I tried to find a listing for top speed so here is my guess. Looking at a 5spd, listed wieght (2350lbs), power (110HP 108lb ft), final drive (4.167) and drag I would guess around 110-115 MPH. Now if you put in a DET then you might be able to go a little faster. I think the DET will also make the car a smidge quicker... ;) I think i'm onto something here.

ive had my speedometer read 145. i know the after 100 speedometers are slightly inaccurate, but not by too much, id say i did a strong 135 true mph, atleast. this is a more or less stock NX, just intake and exhaust and a few bolt ons. as you know...our nxs arent governed, not b13's anyway. just drag limited.

keep in mind, this is not a 1600, its a 2000!

I believe the 1600 has a speed governor @ 109. After that i believe 125 on a well modded 1.6 has been achieved a few times.

There's no way a stock NX will hit 145, except maybe going straight down a mountain, with a hurricane force tailwind, drafting behind a 300ZX TT. Your speedo must be off. Your talking about Z28 territory. Mine has seen 120, but I don't think she'll pull much more than 125.

115 sounds about right for an NX1600 w/o the governer.

sorry dude, but theres a big bridge near here, perfectly flat land, about 2 miles long and ill come up to it going about 80, then nail it (its an automatic, not as quick as manual, but has longer gears) when i go 90 my rpm's set at about 3000, but anyway, thats what the speedo read. somebody back me up here!!!

My pops old NX2K went to 138ish mph. It only had an exhaust canister and an intake screen. I miss that car. :( The guy that has it now is on his 4th engine since January!

Well it's really easy to get bad readings from the speedo sending unit. Nissan is not super accurate. Well come to think about it, most auto makes are pretty inaccurate. I saw just shy of 140MPH when my car was stock and a little testing with a few Police radar wagons showed my speedo to be off by several MPH. Also, your after market wheel/tire comb can show high MPH if it's a smaller diameter. I remember this one nut job bloke (old friend) telling me his mid 80s Cavalier beater, with full sound system, ran 140MPH and thus was faster then my car. I laughed when I saw his micro wheels that stuck out from the fenders and told him he had better study his basic physics again. All in all, I see no reason why you could not see 145MPH on the speedo, I just don't think your car was quite there. ;) Welcome to the auto industry. Honest as the sun is hot... Ahhhh, yah. Right.

Yeah, I noticed you have a few mods, so you have a little extra HP than stock. W/ that and the 17's causing some deviation, I guess you may have seen 145. I wonder how fast it really was? You guys are making want to go out and intentionally break the law :p .

I wonder if the gearing is different on AT nx's? Could it be that an auto will have more on top due to gearing?

Se-r.net lists the nx2k at 134mph top speed stock. So, im sure if you have a good amount of bolt ons and bigger then 14" rims on there, you might be able to tap 138 or 140 or so.....but not much more then that as far as i can figure.

1st - 50mph
2nd - 90mph
3rd - 130mph
4th - ???

I hit an indecated 153 with room to grow

only did it for about 5 sec.

fast as hell though

but im T3/T4

I got my 1.6 sentra doing 130mph=around 210kms i think

Thats huge for a 1.6

My friend hit 125 in his auto with no mods, but a switch where the speed limiter wire goes through.

I hit 116 in my 1.6, could have kept going but when your going that fast on a two lane highway and your only gaining 1 MPH every like 10 seconds you realize alot of ground is passing quick and a cop could be not to far away sitting in a distant median waiting to strike you down with an intent to kill ticket :)

well i know my speedo is fairly on,
or well those radar sighns that they have in a town next to mine say i'm going 45 when my speedo says i'm going 45.
but as for top speed i know that when i hit the rev limiter in 4th thats 125.
then in 5 for a little i let off at about 6500 i was going 135...
still got some room to work there.
and my car is stock.

My 1600 did the same thing, but i only hit 115 and was just like lowdownnx, i could have kept going but gaining 1mph every 10 sec is just a waste of time and to dangerous.
