You just unscrew it. But yea its screwed on EXTREMELY tight so you're gonna have to use pliers or something.

why the *uck did they put glue on the shift knob? Like we were gonna shift so hard it would spin off?

so i go to take my knob off the other day right, and i had heard that they were on tight, so i grab a rag and a skrew driver wrap the wrag around the knob and then twisted it up with the skrew driver till it was tight and started turning. before i knew it i saw some spinning and i thought everything was cool untill i look down and the leather is spinning freely from the knob and has riped at the top. i didn't really care at the time because i had another knob so i grabed a cressent wrench and started goin at it. after about 2 minutes of the knob seemingly spinning i realise that i havent gotten anywhere. so i bust out the blade and cut that off and in the end the glue on the threads of the shifter is much stronger than the mold or the leather glue

use visegrips, if you still have not twisted it out.

Hell, if you're going to throw the old knob away or not use it, just cut it off! Thats what I did, I was getting pissed off, so I put a knife to it :)

He's one of the best exceptions. I know a guy who is a great mechanic. Funny thing is he gets better after having a few beers. Go figure.

I actually sprained my wrist taking off the OEM knob on my B15. What a PITA. I ended up having to cut it all up to shreads. What's really funny is the Spec V's knob just easily twists off without too much effort. Ugh. ;)

Hahaha... I tried everything to take off the shifter. Ended up taking the dremel to it!

Since we are on this shift knob subject what is the thread size of the stock shifter anyways???

Just curious.
