ever since i blew one of my heater core hoses, i've had a mysterious water leak somewhere above the oil pan maybe the actual waterpump...i have to fill the radiator up with 1 liter of water every 2 days...

on another note when the RPM's fall between 3000-4000...the car lags then gets back in the powerband at 4000RPM...

So since it overheated and sputtered and stalled is there a chance that the timing got thrown off ?.....that water leak is freaking me out...i have no idea where the leak is coming from, the top seap hole doesnt have any water in it...

sounds like you may have blew your head gasket.

NOOOOOOOO not the HG word....i dont think i blew it...because the car overheated during regular stop and go traffic, wasnt pushing it hard at all...there was a loud clicking noise coming from the valve cover, after i tried restarting it after it stalled out...im not burning any oil...

Take it to a shop to check for headgasket problems. I forget what the test is called but they introduce a chemical into the cooling system that changes color if exhaust is present. I think I paid $40 for this test.

Do you see the leaking coolant?(ie puddle) Or is the radiator going low with no visible leakage. That chemical test only works if there are combustion gases being introduced into the coolant system, doesn't work everytime. Another way to check is to pull your spark plugs out and pressurize the cooling system, let it sit for awhile then check for coolant in the cylinders. Just find a shop that knows what their doing.

Do a pressure test and see if the pressure drops. What do the plugs look like? Take out the plugs and shine a light into the cylinders. Do the pistons look the same or is there one that's really clean? What does your oil look like? Compression test?

i can see a puddle in the morning when the block is still cool...but after it gets driven for a while the block gets hot and when the water runs down , it evaporates....so i can only see a puddle when the block is cool...

Mobil 1...has a reddish black tinge to it...

How do i pressurize the cooling system ?

I havent taken the plugs off yet, but will do asap...

thanx

is there anyway a bad water pump could be causing this ? pressure leak/bearing going out ?

Yup. Silly question. Since you had the heater hoses repaired did you inspect the hoses good. Maybe the tech had a brain fart and didn't put a clamp back on or the clamp is not tight.
You say it's leaking by the oil pan. Where?
A water pump can leak by a bad bearing, or a leaking gasket.

i changed the hose myself, so no brain farting mechanics :D
when i get under the car to look for the leak i cant see anything because the oil pan is blocking the view...

is it possible that the water pump simply needs to be re-siliconed?
since theres no gasket there ?
