On my 2001 Sentra SE...when accelerating to redline then shifting, as I let the clutch out fully, the engine continues to rev high then slowly drops to the proper rpms for the next gear. At first I thought it was the clutch slipping, but I replaced the plug wires with Accel Thundersport 150 ohm wires, and it got worse.
Is it the clutch slipping? I could see it if it was already slipping and the wires gave it a lot more hp, but I don't think there would really be much hp difference between the old wires and new, I put them in more as a preparation for future upgrades (ok and they look cool too)
Or is there some other problem I am over looking?
Thanks

:) Wires don't make any horsepower. Ok, well the $165 Nology's did on a dyno I saw once.
That is what it sounds like to me man.
Here is a little test to make sure. Find an open road with a slight downward hill. Drive at about 15-20mph, shift from first to 4th and step on the gas a good amount. If you hear the engine speed up but the car ain't moving forward its slippin. What should happen is the motor should bog down and maybe buck a litttle. You need to do this test on a downward hill to help keep the car from stalling.
Hope this helps some, and good luck.

Great test. The one I use is the "try to take off from a full stop in third" test. It's an old test, but it still works. If the car stalls or doesn't really go anywhere then it's clutch time. Sounds like the clutch to me also. Make sure you double check the adjustment before you start replacing bits. It might be just that. As wires go, the only set I have felt power from is the BAE DIING wires sold by Focus auto parts. I love them!!!

Thanks, I'll try those out, how much hp gains from wires, I really didn't expect any, just maybe a bit better throttle response
