okay since my engine is dead, im now looking for a replacement one. i had heard alot of you guys dealt with K Watanabe and got prices for fairly cheap, as cheap as 250 for a jdm sr20. my question is what should i expect from them when im going to look for an engine.. such as core charge and others. well i live in san diego and they have a branch here, should i just go there and talk to them.. will they let me pick one out myself? well i am just curious what to expect from them, thanks for all your help.

I'm the one who got the dirt cheap engine :D
I had it shipped from Cali to FL, that cost me $220. The engine arrived in about a week, really clean. I requested an automatic one, less ragged on I figured. If you live right near them, you should just got and pick one out. I wish I would have had the same opportunity.
As for the core. They will give you $50 for your engine. If I were you, Id keep the engine for parts, or to sell parts off of it. You can make a lot more money, and it can be there to save your ass as well :D
Well, its been a little over a year and a half, and 33k miles, and the engine runs strong as ever. I give K Watanabe a thumbs up.
Good luck

Got mine there 3 years ago. Its my only car, daily driver and all.
I drive about 15k miles a year, and so far, no problems at all!
My dad just got one from them for $250, no core charge.
Clean motors, but confusing customer service (bad English). My mom's Japanese, and both my dad and I had trouble talking to some of the people there.
But, all in all, recommended.

I drove down to LA to get one from them. They were easy to deal with. Engine has been great.
$250
+$50 core charge.
