i was looking at my rims, and noticed that they were made in september of 2000. i was talking to serprise at the time and he said that that was impossible, as they were made in the usa starting in august of 2001. i then noted that my instructions were in 100% foreign language, and he said his were in english. so, now it's trying to find this text and what nation belongs to it so i can find out what the heck is up with my wheels. pictures enclosed. if you have any clue what this language is, please post up! i have super-rare wheels here!

Looks chinese to me. I'm sure somebody on here should be able to help you out with reading that.

<edit> Some of that is in chinese at the top of the page. The rest looks japanese. All asian languages look the same to me. Even my own.

Are you sure? I'm pretty sure Rota's are manufactured in the Phillipeans.(sp)

Ryan (#2), you're right that Rotas are made in the Phillipines. However, it appears that Ryan (#1) has a strange set of wheels, IMHO.

I bought my Subs in September of 2001. Right when they hit the US market. My wheels came with English instructions.

His set just seems like maybe they were made for the Japan market, but landed over here somehow.

Which, IMHO, makes them pretty neat.

Rota is a huge and respected company in Asia AFAIK.

Economy of scale is the main reason we can get cheap, strong and light wheels from Rota. Usually those are mutually exclusive..

I'm glad they are here now, and from their popularity I'm sure Rota is happy too. :)

well, i ordered them from mkiii.net so either they imported them for cheap, or puchased them, or something. i have no clue, but my wheels are very f'in old. i have the grandpa rota's. all of your rota's look to my rota's for advice... or something.

btw, got my tires today. i'm gonna try to hook her up tomorrow. i need an afro smiley face right now.
