So heres the deal. My car has a low battery and so its not been wanting to start lateely. However i charged the battery and it was rrunning fine, then the next day it wouldnt start again, so we jump started the vehicle. I was driving down the road and it started sputtering and lurching, and the tach and speedo were fluctuating and going to zero. By the feathering the gas i was able to get the car to a parking lot where it stalled. Any ideas? btw is a b13 w/ sr20det. Oh, and even off the safc was registerin 0.6% afl....

Probably a ground wire, but it could be the alternator. Recheck your grounds first, then check/test your alternator to make sure its outputing voltage when running. If all else, it could be a bad battery

I had the alternator tested at autozone and it tested fine...granite i dont know how well they test alternators. But alt was my first incling bc the car wont stay running even after it is jumped...but could a bad battery cause that? When i hook the battery up to automatic cycle it says check battery, but will charge fine on manual mode. I dont think its a ground ive checked them all but i guess ill recheck.

just borrow a friends battery and try it out, won't hurt anything. Does the car stay running if you pull the pos. off the battery?

i think i might have found the problem...does the positive wire from the alternator run to the positive battery terminal? bc there was a loose wire in a crimp on the positive terminal it would explain why the car wouldnt stay running after the battery died.

mine did the same thing today...i had to feather the gas pedal too to keep it runing too and not die out(dash went dim and gauges went crazt)......i put a dif battery in after trying to jump it and didnt work and it stared right up.......

If it won't turn over after it dies, it's either the alternator not testing the battery, or the battery not holding a charge. I had this same problem, and found that it was a bad ground or two. Test your battery/alternator and go from there. If it's not the alternator/battery, go to the grounds and check them. See here:

I think ive found the problem. I got the battery replaced with a new one bc it was under warranty and found a nifty little BAT feature on my safc. With thevehicle running under load, the bat meter says 12.0v, and it drops sbelow 12v when the blower and headlights are turned on. Whenever the voltage is below 12v the voltage regulator in the alternator iri supposed to kick it back up to my understanding, so im pretty sure i need to just swap out a spare alternator i have lying around on a sr20de block. Thanks for all the help though, it helped me troubleshoot my problem and get the se-r back on the road.
