I'm thinking about making a return to Classic SER world after 5 year exile. So how fast is a class SER with 155whp(or about what all the bolt ons will give you). Can you hit low 14's in 1/4 mile on street tire? 97-98mph trap speed? I apologize in advance if this type of thread has been beaten to death. :)

I have two friends local, both with classics. Neither has over 135 whp at the local dyno. They both have run 14's on a cool night with trap speeds of 92ish mph on street tires. All exteranl bolt ons (no cams) will not get you 155whp IMHO.

Ah...but that is where you are wrong. :) SE-Rican on the forum put down 157hp with cai, header, exhaust, pullies and S4 cams. Prior to cams he put down 146. So as you can see cams can get you OVER 155hp. I know cause I was there when his beast of a car put out those numbers.

Ok, its a 9.5:1 JDM engine with the USDM intake manifold with all the egr stuff.

Re-read my post. I said with-out cams you will not get 155whp. With cams sure. Some people consider cams a bolt on others don't. I was just being clear as to what I was referring to. He will need cams to get 155whp IMHO.

If someone can get 155 without opening the engine (even if it's just the valve cover) I want to know how it's done. I'm thinking low-mid 140s is it.

oops, I read it wrong...I thought you said "no cams will get you 155hp..."

I was in a hurry when I read it, and read it wrong. My appolgies :)

Oh I meant bolt on including CAMS. I guess cams are not exactly just bolt on but oh well. So 155whp would yield about mid 14's at mid 90's mph??

low-mid 14s.

JDM engine you'll probably get near 160hp with I/H/E/C/P/C.

US engine you'll get around 150.

Those mods I mean the PR/HS CAI, HS Gen5 header, cat-back exhaust of some sort, JWT s3 or s4 cams, UR 2 pulley set, JWT ECU.

I put down 149hp with Pacesetter , bullshit intake and bullshit exhaust. Im about to get my damn pullies finally!!!
We'll see who sees 155 without opening up shit!! :D ;)

Would JDM engine pass emission?

If you use the USDM intake manifold with the egr, yes, it will pass emissions. Otherwise, I dont know. No emissions in FL, so I dont worry about it.

Damn, you're state kicks ass. We are getting emissions here in my part of PA next year. They already have it in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh.

IMO, 155 WHP could get low 14's, but it deoends alot on the rest of the car, interior, suspension, tires, temp etc. Hell theres a guy running 14.1 with just a gutted car and not much in the way of mods. Taking out stuff like sound insulation, spare, jack, seats, etc would go a long way towards lowered ET's. Also running drag radials seems to help too.

how much can be made with some c-series cams?

lots
IIRC, With c3's, SCC made like 170 whp or something with just I/H/E/C3/ECU but they are not very streetable. C1's are more streetable than S4's but make more power, if I were to get cams these would be the ones. Some ppl are running around on C2's on the street, but streetable is a subjective term, what is streetable to someone may not be streetable to others.
