I took the screw out and the damn thing wont budge. The engine is still a bit hot so Im thinking that the metal has expanded and its causing this. Has anybody ever had a problem getting your rotor off??

Be very careful about pulling the rotor off. DO NOT TWIST and PULL as you will damage the camshaft position sensor wheel. If you have, carefully saw off the end of the rotor and drill carefully into the end. There is a screw in the metal sleeve that the rotor bolts to that holds the sleeve on the distributor. You will also have to remove the metal plate on the inside of the distributor. Be very careful as the distributor is a very expensive piece to replace. The unit is only sold as one piece (except for the cap and rotor). Don't ask how I know how to take it apart.

yeah make sure you take the set screw out, you wont see it at certain angles...

Yeah, I know about the screw. But get this, I DID twist the rotar and the whole shaft its on twisted too. I was worried about what this might do. When I finally got it off and replaced, I started the car and first I heard this pop, it sounded like the spark arched inside of the cap. Then it ran for a few seconds but it sounded like it was missfiring. I turned it off and took of the cap and twisted the roter the opposite direction this time. I was able to wist it a total of about 30 degrees. This time when I turned it on, it barely idled. So next time I went halfway between the two positions I had it in and it runs just fine now. Which leads to a question: by twisting it that way, am I changing the timing?? I would say I am. Who knows whats goin on here? I dont think I did any damage becuase I drove the car about 20 miles and its working just great.

Yes, twisting it absolutely changes the timing.

I just removed one today. Jiggle it. A lot.

It will eventually pull straight out. It is being held on by really tight o-ring things.

Jiggle, jiggle, jiggle.

There was no way a lot of jiggling was going to get this thing off. I mean, I nearly destroyed it with the plyers from pulling on it, I could never have gotten it off by hand. Believe me this sucker was on there really really tight.
