and that is not a good thing in Florida in the summer!!!

actually they quit while on I-77 in south carolina on our way back from New York....thats after I had to buy a new set of tires because one blew out and I hit a curb puncturing the sidewall of one:o (205 50 R15's in a V speed rating are virtually imposible to find in short notice!!!)as you can tell it wasn't the best vacation:rolleyes:

so my question: how much of an ordeal is replacing the wiper motor going to be???ya know, can I spend my 4th of July doing it? or am I going to have to do major surgery?? and does anyone know offhand the price of one??? or should I just commit The Princess to the Service Department of Nissan of Lakeland and hope they don't rape me?

Thanx!

Hey Anna,
there was a recall for the 200sx. It had to do with the a hole on the wiper motor. If this hole was not plugged water seeps into the it and causes the motor to fail. Find the recall online and they may fix it free. if it was a campange then you may be out of luck. just go to the stealership and ask them to look at it to see it it has been plugged.
Mine quit on me in the middle of a very heavy rain storm. i had to drive with the widow rolled down and my head out to see. i stopped and got rain-X. I repaired it at the dealership , before I new of the recall, IIRC it cost me about $75.

They should be able to check the VIN to see if your car had the recall. I had mine done 2 years ago. ;)

I pulled a functioning wiper motor out of a 93 classic at a junk yard for $30. Worked great.

they said it wasn't covered under the recall....I was going to question it, but being female I wouldn't have been taken seriously, because the Nissan dealer NEVER takes me seriously!!

I also wasn't in the position to argue, I just needed the damn wipers back working so I could take the car to the meet tomorrow.

the recall was the wiper linkage was getting water on them, rusting, and stripping out, they fixed it by putting a piece of rubber in front of it to keep water from draining on it.

There is a recall for replacing the wiper linkage. When doing the recall , it is everything between the motor and the wiper arms. You should have gotten this fixed for free. I know this for sure. They screwed you. I have done these recalls. If you want, Monday I can get you the bulletin #.

I was pretty sure they were raping me....

this is what the service slip says:

Replaced Broken Wiper Arm Linkage Bar

which sounded to me like EXACTLY what the recall included, the service man said it wasn't covered in the recall-I didn't argue because I was at work right before the holiday, busy and unable to chat- I NEEDED the car back pronto!!!

Any info you can give me to get my 80 bux back would be greatly appreciated!!!

I have a 1998 200sx Se-r... How do I check if my car is included in the recall? Is is too late now to get it fixed for free from a dealership? I don't want my wipers to break down in the middle of a rainstorm....

The recall was only for the '95 and '96 200sx/Sentras.

Haha, he sure did. It's about time we get more girls on here. I wonder if mine was ever fixed or if they are gonna break soon. Hey Brian do you have like a little list thing of all the recalls on 200s?
