ok, i have been trying to find these for awhile now after useing them at work (nissan)
what is it?
- imagine a piece of heat shrink tube with a ring of solder in the middle.
how it works?
- locate the two wires you wish to solder and slip the tube over one (just like heat shrink tubeing) then twist the two wires together. place the middle of the tube (were the solder is) over the exposed wire ends and use a lighter to melt the solder and shrink the tube. you have just soldered and protected the wires in less than 30 seconds.
why does this kick so much ass?
- no cords, no dripping solder, no dressing the tip, no "were the hell did i leave my roll of solder?", no "did they really use my roll of solder as bundling wire?!?!?!" , no finding out you put your gun down on something you REALLY didnt want to brun:eek2:
all it is is a tube and a lighter and your done. that is the only place i could find that sold them. the ones nissan supplies us with are clear tubing with solder in the middle and then a band of sealing adheasive at each end. i can not vouch for the ones in the link but they are worth a shot for anyone doing extencive electrical work.......or if your just plain lazy;)
