Searched but I'm only finding posts with lightweight wheels. I can't sport that cash so I need to know which flywheel to go with, the one that came with the VE or my B15 sr20 wheel.

Thanks.

If you have an SR20VE - it did not come with a flywheel.

I thought I read something about that. So what's the big round wheel with all the little teeth?

Definitely a flexplate. SR20VE's were never manuals. An SR16VE could have a flywheel.

I'm A DORK. I dropped the VE off the truck a bit late and didn't look close enough. Looked again, holy crap, never saw an engine attached to an automatic before (hurl). Guess my horizons just got broadened. :D

Well, for some reason, my VE had a manual tranny bolted to it, but I bought the engine without the tranny, and was able to get a better price for the engine that way (plus, the tranny looked like it had been damaged; odd noises were coming from it when we were turning the engine over). I guess the original owner did a manual tranny swap. There was an inscription on the tranny in yellow that said "P11". Weirdness...

When I installed the engine, I put my B15 clutch and flywheel back on. Maybe I should snap some pics of the clutch and flywheel that were on the engine. Maybe someone from here would be able to identify them...

Cool. My disc and PP are still pretty new. I was feeling uneasy about not using thread locker on the flywheel bolts when I did my tranny rebuild so this will be perfect. The FSM indicates to not resurface the flywheel when changing the clutch out, I've seen some do this but wonder if it's not worth it. Everything is working great right now as it is.
