For under $60/each what would you get? Looking for a tire that has great steering/braking response and cornering ability. 195/50/15 size
1. Sumitomo HTR Z
2. P700Z
3. Dunlop SP sport FM901
4. Nitto NT 450 extreme
Thanks for the response!

scratch the nittos from your list, they are garbage..... i had the p700s on my classic, they were ok, not great, pretty quiet, good for drag racing..... the new dunlops actually looked really good for the price, but ive never had experience with them

NT stands for No Traction.

Others to consider:
Dunlop SP Sport 9000, on sale at Tirerack for $64
Kumho ECSTA 712. $50 at Tirerack

But the *best* bang for the buck is the Potenza S0-3, but you'll have to reach for a little more money, $88 each. Still a bargin.

I have had both of these on my 98 SE.

The Pirelli P700Z's were EXCELLENT for traction, but they didn't last all that long. I had them put on the car in January 2001, they were bald in March of 2002.

I have the Sumitomos on my car now. They don't grip nearly as well as the P700z's, but they last significantly longer. So it really depends on what your needs are.

I second that. S0-3s are pretty nice. Excellent daily driver tires, I like mine.

I third that. S0-3s are the way to go even though it has gone up in price since the special that ran a few months ago for $75 each.

Thanks again all for the input. I have the Kumho 712's on there now and didn't like the way they wore over time. My wife made a panic stop one day and 2-3 spots on the tread wore flat. They shimmy all over now. S0-3's yea but a little too much $$$ right now. Thanks !
