I'm in the process of restoring my interior and thought about placing my battery under the passenger seat. http://members.dslextreme.com/users/pedroramosjr/images/IMG_0989.jpg

Anyone done this before?

I took out my Corbeau FX1 Pro(now for sale http://www.sr20forum.com/240sx-s13-s14-s15-rwd-only-parts/212058-fs-corbeau-fx1-pro-240sx-seat-bracket.html) and went back to stock seats. I had them redone in black fabric.

I'm 90% sure this is where SCC put their battery in Project Silvia. They always talk about it being "under the passenger's knees", which either means under the seat or right in front of it.

I know some guys that did it, works well with weight control and the sealed AGM battery, I am assuming Odyssey pc680 is great, I have one put here

I put my PC680 at the front of the passenger floorboard (at the time) for wire length purposes. Turns out it's the major suck when you're an instructor/passenger and trying to brace yourself. So it will get moved before the October CarGuys event @ VIR, likely to under or slightly behind the seat, whatever seems to work best.

I ran my PC680 in the sentra under the drivers seat for 2 years with the same bracket that Remus posted above.

For the 240 though I decided to keep it up front and just rotate it so that it clears the cold pipe.

wouldnt acessability be alot better if you mounted right behind the passenger seat . and you would be able to use an approved box for safety sake . it wouldnt be far from the position your thinking of at the moment only a foot or so tward the rear . you could still lay it down for it to be low profile and when you hit bumps on the track your passenger wouldnt be hitting their bum on your battery under the seat .

i mounted mine in the rear passenger side in a taylor box with an orrigional size battery . it made things easier if i needed a jump or needed to give a jump . it was also easier to get to , to disconnect .
