i have a cracked valve seat inside the turbo on the exhaust side of the housing. i have about 5 hairline cracks. is this something that i should worry about, and is it expensive to repair.

Is it around the wastegate port? If so, it's perfectly normal. Don't worry about it. Keep an eye on the cracks. If they get really big, replace the housing. Do you have an EGT gauge?

no i don't have an egt gauge. i just pulled the turbo of a pular gti-r and was inspecting it. the cracks are not that bad. i just wanted to know if i should get the housing replaced when i get the turbo rebuilt.
