What is the best strut tower bar applicable to the B14 chassis?

Best? That's probably subject to interpretation. I would think as long as the bar (when tightened down) doesn't move at all, and is solid it would be a "good" strut tower bar. Now I personally like my Stillen bar mainly for how it looks. BUT if I decide to go with the ground-control camber plates, I'll be unable to use it. I'm currently running the Stillen camber plates. I like them, but the g/c's give you more suspension travel. And with our cars more suspension travel is a BIG plus.

i've had my courtesy stb (actually i have both front and rear) for about two years now. i love it!! sturdy, adjustable and not too expensive.

I've seen some on ebay for about $20, but I've been reluctant to get one since I think it's probably crap. you get what you pay for. courtesy is probably the best price I've seen for a name brand.

If you plan on upgrading to the GC Camber plates latter then the Courtesy bar is the best. I have seen some cheap bars that look exactly like the Courtesy Bar. Some have ridges on the plates that could interfear with the GC plates in the future. I do think the Stillen Bar is better then the others because it is more rigid.

FWIW I have a $25 Ebay bar, it's a nice aluminum piece, fitment was excellent, it tightened down just fine and has not come loose in about 10k miles of driving.

Just my two cents :D

I didn't know that courtesy sells a rear bar? And, I am about to lower my car, (as soon as nopi gets off of their ass and sends me my AGX's), and I was wondering if Ground Control's and KYB's would present a camber problem? If anybody has done this, or even replaced both the springs and struts, could tell me the results they found, that would be great. Thanx

Yes they will but you can always slot the strut for free. No big deal. The rear has no camber issues on the b14.

Yes, Courtesy has a rear bar.

Also, if you have a 98 or 99, you *must*get the Courtesy front bar because it's adjustable which allows it to clear the emissions junk on top of the TB.

I still had to bend the bar more. No big deal just put it between a couple blocks and stood on it.

Check out this link (http://www.se-r.net/suspension/slotting_struts.html). All you do is enlarge the hole on the top of the strut (behind the brake, where it attachs to the knuckle) so that you can pull the wheel out some. In some cases there is enough slop in the bolts that you don't need to cut anything just pull the top out.

I have the Stillen FSB and the Courtesy RSB and handling is much tighter than before I put them on, and I'm still on the stock suspension.:o

I cannot find the courtesy bar anywhere! Can someone give me a link? All I can find is the front strut bar.
And thanks for the link 98sr20de.

Yeah I have the stillen FSTB it looks nice but the guys are right if you eventually wanna run the GC camber plates you gotta get rid of the Stillen FSTB I love the courtesy rear STB it really makes the chassis super rigid but not too harsh when going over bumps etc.. the only drawback is when the motivational plates make that clunking sound when you go over a bum[

FWIW I bought the e-bay FSB and then I got the Courtesy RSB from a forum member, and they look to be exactly the same to me (I mean in materials and they way the look and were built).

The $tillen one does look really pretty though but it's MUCH more than the e-bay or Courtesy one.

Jose...

Did you adjust is to that the bar leans forward in front of the emissions? If you did that I can't see how it would still hit.

If you want to run the GC camber plates with the Stillen Stb there is a s way it can be done. A guy in Californa Sells a part that hooks to the camber paltes that allows the stillen Stb to be used with the same stiffness and function.
