: Current flywheel recommendation?
BenFenner 09-15-2007, 04:31 PM I'm in the market for a light-weight flywheel. I notice Greg has an 8.5 lbs. flywheel for $275. Should I jump on that?
It will go on a 1994 B13 that will see 275 HP soon. I'm already looking at a stage 3 clutch and PP package from Greg over at G-Spec. What is the current trend for flywheels?
BenFenner 09-16-2007, 12:11 AM Bump for the night.
paNX2K&SE-R 09-16-2007, 12:43 AM Thats a fine price for a new flywheel Ben. I paid $250 for a new one on a group deal almost 6 years ago!
BenFenner 09-16-2007, 12:47 AM I believe you when you say it is a fine price. I'm just wondering if that flywheel is the one I'm looking for. Any advice?
paNX2K&SE-R 09-16-2007, 12:57 AM Well there is a good chance that its a Fidanza, thats the same one I have.
SR20 Soon? 09-16-2007, 01:55 AM Fidanza = good. That should be enough info for you lol.
I believe JWT has one also which is probably good. JWT comes with a higher price tag i think.
BenFenner 09-16-2007, 02:31 AM That's all I needed to know. I haven't really ever had a chance to research flywheels. They have never really been mentioned on the mailing list, and that's really all I've been a part of until now. The only thing I knew was that some Fidanza dealers have sent some out that have tripped CEL on B14s.
I'll probably jump on one of Greg's wheels, I just wanted the 411.
blusteelsr20 09-16-2007, 09:14 AM Greg may have the Fidanza, dunno. Got one on my 94 w/ VE and it works great, dependable since the original DE received it in 99. Ben, welcome to the forums. I remember you on the mailing list and your posts to go turbo. Since you have a B13 any light flywheel you get won't trip a CEL. Good luck!
jerryeads 09-16-2007, 09:26 AM If Greg lets it out the door, it'll be fine. Just is. DAMN that's light - My Clutchnet from a group buy a while back behind the VE is 11, I think. You'll have to get used to it getting moving from a dead stop, but won't take long. You'll bob your girlfriend's head when you take off, just tell her to get used to it :-).
chris/sr/se 09-16-2007, 10:55 AM I have the JWT, it's soo nice... and LSER1-NF000 is 9lbs... I also have Greg's "stage 4", which is JWT Pressure plate with 1 sided metal disc.
94sentraSER 09-16-2007, 01:47 PM Had a Fidanza on my old 94 SE-R, used to bounce off redline almost everyday , was so easy & uneffortles to do so and very fun might i add....
se-riousclassic 09-16-2007, 05:56 PM I posted a link in the classifieds for a great deal on fidanza flywheels. 250 shipped IIRC from www.ptuning.com

Where and what? Looking for a flywheel that won't trip a cel in my b14. Thanks.
Shawn B 09-18-2007, 08:21 AM What is this car used for? Such a light flywheel will be really hard for city driving.
I have a nine (9) pound Stillen flywheel in my B13, it's a DD in Houston traffic. No problems, you get used to it very quickly, like in a couple of hours.

Huh? Call Greg V at G-Spec Performance, Forum Vendor.
It's a hunk of aluminum machined to very close tolerances. As long as it does not trip a CEL, Fidanza, Stillen, JWT....pretty much all the same.
I'd buy the unit from Greg V, just based on the fact that he sells it.

............., ok. Thanks.
MeSE-Rious#6 09-18-2007, 11:22 AM What I meant by the earlier post was where can one buy one for 287 shipped (other than from ptuning), and which flywheel were we talking about? I'm in the process of purchasing a stg 3 from greg and wanted to also purchase a flywheel, but I don't see any fidanza wheels on the g spec website. Maybe I'll give him a ring later on today, as I'm sure he could get 1 for me.

I just ordered a stage 3 clutch/PP and the 8.5 lb. flywheel Greg is offering right now. You could do the same. =]
