Hey guys,

I'm installing a gauge cluster in a 97 sentra, and we need to roll back the odometer. We are trying to remove the speedometer face and the needle but do NOT want to break anything. The numbers don't roll that easily; we feel we can easily roll them back once the speedometer face is removed. We have two choices really: Put it on anyway with incorrect mileage, or get a reply from you guys! :D Any help is appreciated.

I believe se-r.net has detailed procedures

peace of cake.

(step one) take the two screws out of the top of the plastic shell around the gauges. remove the shell from the dash.

(step two) take the four screws out that surround the gauge cluster. unplug the three wire harnesses that are plugged into the back of the gauge cluster.

(step three) remove the gauge cluster from the dash. push in on the slots of the black bezel all the way around the gauge cluster to remove the bezel and clear plastic cover. no need to remove the clear plastic from the black bezel, it will all come off in one piece.

(step four) unscrew the two screws that hold the speedometer face on and remove the needle, carefully.

tip. when removing the needle, try to pry evenly from both sides of the needle's base, as to ensure not damaging it.

i just finished installing reverse indiglo gauges on my 98 sentra today. it was a little hectic but i got it done.

hope this helps!
