well after reading here i know the coolant temp sensor is gone. the gauge jumps up and down bad at high rpm and she bogs. well problem is it was tuned with bad sensor and was pinging at like 9 pounds. so if i just replace the sensor what will it do to my tuning? is my tuning still good cause i am happy with power but just wanna know if i need to make another trip to tuner. thank you all:biggthump

I dont know why, i just know the ecu doesnt like when it goes bad lol.

I have a SR20VE on a b13 ecu and my temp sensor is going bad, i cant even start my car when its cold unless i unplug the coolant temp sensor and let it warm up w/o it.

well i stopped at autozone and picked up a new wells sensor. wont probably install it till this weekend(too much work this is the 6th work day of 11 plus hours a day). but i aint complaining it pays the bills right. but yeah i will post up the if it works here and hopefully it wont affect the safc tuning. keep this updated if anyone gets in here with ideas.

It dumps too much/too little fuel when the sensor is malfunctioning. It probably affects ignition timing as well.

a bad ect will cause flooding and no hot start syndrome..

ok small update on this one. i found that the sensor under the coolant temp sensor was loose(yes i read about this happening) and i flipped it so it tightens and that seems to have helped. idle is much smoother and needle didnt dip from what i could tell so i think that might of been it. wont have feed back for a week the car is at the body shop getting a new bumper from my car wash crashing it into the wall again.:)

Good luck bro :)

I have to buy a new sensor or ill have to keep unplugging it when i try to start it. The VE wont start for shit with a bad ect for some reason haha.

the single wire gauge is only for the dash unit..it has nothing to do with performance/idle..perhaps the connection on the 2-wire ect was loose

Yea, i think thats the one he probably had loose also because when i disconnect mine to let my car warm up it runs like poop but once i re connect it after the car reaches a decent temperature it runs normal.
