I have an act clutch in my 98 se and it is acting kinda weird.. it works great on normal driving but when i and on the track or street racin it does not grab as well from 6 grand and 7 grand. the clutch has just over 6000 miles on it. the car has 62000. do i need to adjust my clutch cable or did i get a goofed up clutch? i can get on it clear up to about 5500 - 6000 and it is ok but over 6000 it just does not grab like it use to...

What kind of clutch do you have and mods to the engine? I would guess it's a bit glazed.

I have the ACT clutch. the mods that i have on my car are.... courtesy pop charger, full exhaust header back, eibach pro kit lowering springs, tokico struts and shocks, short shifter, ngk double platinum laser ark, taylor bradded spark plug wires. i do not have alot done but it keeps up with if not out run my buddies nissan maxima se.. with about the same mods...

Sounds like your clutch and flywheel is glazed. Most times it happens because the clutch was not broken in properly. Another cause could be your cable is too tight causing over centering of ther clutch which will cause it to slip. I hope this helps--Good Luck

if the clutch was not broken in properly wou i have noticed it sooner? will this go away or not? witch direction would i have to go on the cable to loosen it. to the fire wall or to the front of the car.. thank you for all the information it is a great help. i want to figure it out before i get too many miles on the cluthc and can not warrenty it....

Spinning toward the front will lossen the cable which takes stress off the clutch.
