So ive been on these forums for a couple years now with very little posts because i happen to find all my answers with the search button. Yet after weeks of extensive searching i still cant decide on a some things. My setup is as follows...

~92 nx2000
~Gti-R Engine swap
~Rebuilt head (5 angle the works) and rebuilt bottem end
~CP Pistons(only because the ringlets were fried on the stocks)
~Stock balanced rods and crank
~Probably going with 700cc or so injectors
~Upgraded fuel system and maf
~Fmic
~New seals, gaskets, arp bolts, Internal bearings, the works
~S3M's
~Stock manny for now
~Safc, boost controller
~Stock gtir brain for now
~Gotta find me a b15 lsd trans.

But my main issue is the turbo... I can't decide between the gt2871r or the gt3071r. Ive searched and searched and still can't seem make a decision. I want as much streetable power i cant get, and still be moderatly reliable, as i have very close auto repair connects. i know the 2871 is a quick spooler but could run out in high rpms and might not let the engines potential out. The 3071 is a little lagier but with a front drive car might be benifical, and be better for this built of an engine. Although i heard the 3071 might not be as streetable, some say it streets better cause of the later spool. Im getting to many mixed opinions and i was just looking for some direct advice. This will be a dd but will get opened up plently and i want more then enough power to do so. I dont think i left anything out.
Any help is apprecated,

Brian

might i say that is a hell of a dd, how much boost are you talking about pushing? Well, I guess it wouldn't matter much to me, go big or go home.

well I had a gt2871r and I , moved up to a gt3076r with the iodea of making more power and haveing somthing that was a little slower spooler , I hope it works , plenty of people seem to be real happy with the gt3076r ( gt30r ) , I hope the same will be true for me

What I would do... cp pistons on stock gti-r rods with arp rod bolts
keep the gti-r main bolts(just buy a new ones)
740cc inj, keep the stock head bolts .(asuming you got a gti-r motor)
buy tial wastegate 38 or better if you can 44mm
reflange the gti-r manifold for a t3 flange and buy a 3071r 0.63 turbo with the 60mm 90 trim exhaust wheel that would net you 400+whp at 20lbs easy with a good tune.
I use to have a gt3071r in a t2 flange 0.86 with the 60mm trim 90 exaust wheel the car did 333whp at 1 bar and about 370 at 18lbs ... its was not to easy to put that power to the ground not becouse the car did not hook its was becouse the turbo was building boost very fast much faster than the gti-r t28 the 2871 would be a lot worst 1 recomendation man please buy a t3 housing its will have better spool up a better top end than the t2 also buy as I stated before a tial wastegate, the internal 3071 WILL have boostcreep badly Dont ask how I know this je
Some pics of my last 3071r

I have been throu many turbos and I have ride a lot of dif configurations with the 28rs 2871 with t0.64 0.86 t3 0.63 etc and the 3071r its one of the best suited turbos for the sr20 with the right mods.I would love to see someone with a 0.78 Ts Housing with a gti-r manifold...
1 more thing .. port the shit out the gti-r manifold it will help a lot>!
