: Audi turbo Q (Mike Jez?)

My friend has an Audi A4 2.8, non-quattro (the red-headed step child of the Audi family:)) After I finally raced him an anihilated him by 3+ car lengths (with a slipping clutch nonetheless) he has gotten frustrated with having just a "show" car (rolling hard and low on 18's with an S4 bumper and bumping stereo and Arospeed "quieter-than-stock" muffler) and a real slow car. He wants to buy an already modded A4 with the APR stage 3 turbo kit. Apparently this kit runs a "Garrett GT 25" turbo (I'm not familiar with it) and is set at 20psi!!!! I asked him what type of injector and the compression ratio, but he doesn't know, of course.

Any Audi guys out there that can verify this GT 25 turbo and APR kit that runs 20psi on the street?!?! Mike Jez, I hear that you have dabbled in Audi's.

BTW, this is SE-R related, since I plan on still kicking his @$$ when I finally get my T25 hooked up:D He should just give up now. He sure will be sore when my econobox that costs 1/4 of his car out runs, out handles, and out does his German-mobile:p .

An A4 is a 1.8 liter turbo. I think it has 9:1 compression. 20 psi on pump gas?probably not. People like to brag about their boost almost as much as their imaginary 1/4 mile times. Krautwagon, the kia of european cars.

The stage three is as he stated. The kit is designed for 310hp. That would be crank HP not wheel HP more then likely. That car with 4 wheel drive will be heavy but not slow. High 13's or Low 14's should be possible. If he says it runs 20psi who cares, I doubt it. Maybe he will turn up the boost and blow his engine. I wouldn't wish that on anyone.
