I havea cracked rim. The crack is only about 1.5 inches but its making my tire leak. It is on the inside lip around where the tire seals to the rim. I sent it to a rim repair shop yesterday and Tire rack calls me today and says that a cracked rim is inrepairable. The rim repair shop says they fix cracked rims all the time. WHo should I believe? And does any one have any info on this? Getting 1 new rim is almost impossible because they were discontinued (Konig 16x7 V-Racing Rims ie-villans)

I think it may depend on the wheel material. I have had a stock bent/cracked rim fixed. it was a very small crack. it ran me $85. looked like new afterwards. ran great till I sold the car.

I thought they were talking some bullshiyat cause they want me to buy new rims or something. Good to know. thanks. ANyone else have any experiences or knowledge about this topic? Found nothing on the search function worth while.

Bout time. I want to hang out so frickin bad. Man, this broken rim stuff sucks. Rolling on a spare is sort of embarrassing. But it makes the drive interesting. I wont have it fixed till tueday however. I shipped it to PA to some rim repair place that was recommended by tire rack and stuff...

The Wheel Collision Center is about 5 minutes from my house. I have heard nothing but good things about their work. However, I hear than can be costly.

Wow. Well, that is what I read about them so I guess I can trust them. They told me that it wouldnt be more than 120 to fix my rim and remount the old tire. I thought that was a better deal then having to buy a set of used 14's. At this point I just wnat them to fix it right. I dont mind 120 bucks and their prices really didnt seem that bad. Plus my crack is not that big. Thanks for the info.

Wheels America in Long Island is good. Just they always have issues with color matching. There is another spot in Long Island. PM me for the info.

Talk about expensive. I bent my rim in 2 spots and have the crack I knew about. So much for the estimate. $220 for the repair and $30 for remount and shipping. There goes another 1/2 weeks pay. God I love cars sometimes. :(
