Got my new GC coilovers w/ koni inserts installed yesterday and let me tell
you something. It's the joint baby! Nice & smooth over bumps, unlike the
sorry tokicraps & iebach prokit set up it replaced. At one point I had it
turned a little more than halfway down the collar, the wheels were
practically even with the body of the car and I still had 2 inches of
travel. Dang! How does it handle? I wish I lived near an autocross course.
I'm driving to fast again on public roads (a no no). I'm bending these turns
hard baby. Couldn't stretch it like that with the old set up that's for
sure. I say all of this to say if you've got the $ and want a serious
coilover set (externally adjustable fronts compression & firmness, rears
firmness) then this is the way to go! No if, ands, or butts about it.
Scott's set up is #1! Yeah :D

Are they just revalved and shortened Konis? How much did you pay for them? I'd like some more info if you don't mind giving it up!

yeah, i would like to know more about this set-up. My agx's are at the end of their lifespan,so a new set-up would be nice.

I also want to give Scott some props. He lives not too far from me and always there to answer my questions, help me with my car, and give me advice. I've ridden in his car and his suspension is top notch! Hmmm...wonder if he'd agree to a monthly installment plan. :D

$1900, they are really easy to install if you know a little about the car. The only mod is to enlarge the front strut tower thingy. A piece of cake. I paid for my install but after watching I kicked myself :confused:
They make no noise whatsoever :D The ride is GRRRREAT! It's very easy to adjust, and if you slam it you still have over a inch and a half of travel. I presently have my car at the same ride hight of the eibach/tokicrap setup and I have about 3-4 inches of stem showing. This puts my old set up to shame. The only problem is I keep testing off ramps to see how close to a porche I am. :eek:

This sounds basically the same as the Motivational set-up, which is sold for $300 cheaper...what's the main differences here that we should know about?

I wanted to say that I have installed on my classic Scott's strut tower bar. It is a nice strut tower bar and works great with the GC camber plates. Scott is very nice and answered all my questions. I give him thumbs up to order is coil over setup or strut tower bar.

I believe the difference is the pillar ball mounts in the rear & external adjustments in the rear. I believe it also may have a slight bit more suspension travel. Not 100% sure of that though.

The Motivational suspension uses Koni single-adjustable (rebound) struts. Adjustment is internal, meaning, you'll have to remove the strut from the car to adjust rebound settings. The SHigSpeed suspension uses Koni Yellow #8611 externally dual-adjustable (compression and rebound). Rebound adjustment is via using a knob on the top of the strut and twisting. Compression adjustment is via a screw at the bottom of the strut. The SHigSpeed suspension will out-perform the Motivational suspension by miles... I should know, I have one of the first sets made.

Well,

going from the standard Koni inserts (aka Motis) to 8611 up the bill by about US$500 in retail prices.

So US$300 is not a bad deal after all!

What rears does he use? I understand that the fronts are double adjustable. The rears are single adjustable (as stated) but is it internal or external? I am specifically referring to the B14 setup. I have Koni's now and the GC plates up front. What do I need to modify further with this setup and can I just get the struts becuase I already have the springs with my GC setup.

I believe he uses the standard Koni Red insert like the ones on the Motivational setup for the rear of the B14; internally-single-adjustable. You should be able to just get the struts. Just shoot him an e-mail or a PM (shigspeed).
