went to a local shop to get prices for some JWT camshafts... i asked them how much for S3, S4, C1, etc... they told me JWT only has "JWT SR20 race cams" which will cost me $560... which one are those???:confused:

and they also told me JWT springs and retainers will cost me $600... are these stainless steel springs with titanium retainers or what???

My experiance is that all JWT cams cost the same from the same shop. If the shop doesn't know what they have or can get, run away (like a man with head held high) and go someplace else.

the C series cams require aftermarket valve springs and retaniers. JWT also sells those for $600

Oh, and like Steve said above. Run away from a shop with that little knowledge of JWT's product line.

Yeah if I were you I would order directly from JWT because the dealers dont really give you that much of a discount (maybe 10 bucks) and you will run a higher risk of getting the wrong product thru the dealer

Well here we go, I have know idea who started this crap that you have to run JWT springs and retainers with JWT cams, that is silly. Cams are all made the same, they just diifer in lift, duration and the actual open and closing points thats it. I have run JUN, TODA, FERREA, and so one with JWT cams with no problems. I have had 2 diffrent set of springs in the 9 sec race car JUN and FERREA while running JWT cams and these springs ran up to 9000 RPMs with no problems. We have 2 motors for the race car ones a backup motor and we built them just a little diffrent when it cam to parts and they both worked great. This harmonic tuning bullshit that is suposed to be in the JWT springs is all shit. Just JWT and others trying to sell a product. I am a great JWT fan but I do know when the shit is layed on too thick.

If anyone wants cams S3,S4.C1,C2 and C3s they will cost $580 to your door. JWT springs and retainers will be $610 to your door.
