zip tied mine to the headlight wiring! I've never had it inside the intake and have zero problems related to it.

He is correct... just zip tie it somewhere in the engine bay away from things..

We're talking about this little guy right?

After connecting my after market intake, I had to leave it plugged into the tube, otherwise a CEL would come up.

So I left it connected to it, but not even touching the intake. I've had it like this for almost a year, no problems etc.

When I got the JWT Pop Charger to replace my cheepo AutoZone Intake I noticed increased power gains. But what was more interesting is, I noticed even bigger power gains with my AC on!
Now you would think the car would loose power because the AC is on etc. But it felt like the car was actually better then without AC.

I figured that when the AC is on the radiator fans are blowing air into the bay, thus the pop charger picks up that air, thus giving me a nicer kick. But after talking to a forum member, he mentioned that the 98 200sx and 99 Sentra's have a different AMB sensor then the older models. He mentioned that he had to extend his sensor to the intake and hook it up some place before the air hits the MAF.

After thinking about it, I realized what was most likely happening with the AC and radiator fans. Most likely the air blow from the radiator fan was blown into the stock intake tube, where the AMB sensor is connected. Thus giving it more power because it felt more air coming in.

Yesterday I ghetto connected that plastic tube to my pop charger (I will post pictures later on). I then started the car, and played with the throttle control on in the engine bay and put my hand next to the plastic tube. I still felt air being sucked in etc. I took a quick spin and the car did feel a bit better. Now not too much better because the suction power was not as great as it used to be while the car had a stock intake.

So what I will probably need to do is somehow get the sensor in between the MAF and the Pop Charger. That would require me to get 2 maf adapters (now I'm hating the pop charger for bolting directly to the MAF ;) ) and see how that does.

I've never seen that thing in my life

Is that bad? I don't think my b14 had that

Well what style/brand of intakes are you considering? Some, like the Injen RD Cold Air Intake has a place to plug in the sensor. For others just leave the air temp sensor plugged into the plastic air horn and tie it off somewhere in the engine bay like others have suggested.

You don't need the horn. Just make sure the sensor is still plugged into the gray harness then tuck it wherever the hell you want. It won't throw any codes or cause any issues.

That is pretty much the same sensor. Just on 98 200sx and 99 Sentra's they are relocated.

yeah that sensor is only for diagnostic purposes, it does nothing when it comes to the actual running of the car. I have mine tied next to my cone filter just so it gets a somewhat accurate reading, but it doesn't matter where you go with it.

I actually took one of them caps that come on a set of rca (audio) cables and stuck it on That way its not getting a different signal change from outside air and hot ne bay air every millasecond.
