I'm trying to find parking brake cables for my Nx2000 and the only thing the local auto store has are for a 1.6L sentra. Can anyone confirm if this might fit?
Thanks,
Nick

lines are different because the 1.6 uses drums, and yours has the rear disc's. If it was a rear disc 1.6, i have heard they exist, then it would probably work.

I think the nx2000 and sentra se-r's are different as well. Get e brake cables for an nx2000, not a sentra. Different wheel bases. No, 1.6 won't work.

Thanks guys now I'll have to go to the dealer and deal with their prices because as far as I know ***** else stocks the cables for an Nx:mad:

Hey guy's got a problem and I'm not sure how tackle it.
The E-brake is funny if I pull it up to high it will lock up. Any body
can trouble shoot for me.

Please help can't do stand-stills.

I think i know what your problem is. When you pull your ebrake, the cable doesnt release when you disengage it. Yeaterday i spent 5 hours fixing mine......PITA. anyway, if this is the problem, try tugging on your ebrake cable after it is dissconected from the caliper. if it doesnt move (or at least a little freely) your prob going to need to take the entire cable off for that side and lube it up good. my cable must have been disconnected for 5 years (and it's a 97!) b/c my cable was froze baaaaaaaaaad. one of the little rubber boots that protects the cable from salt/road debris was torn. I pushed like a whole 1 oz. bottle of wet weather bike chain oil through the cable and a bunch of mucky crap came out the other end. but anywhays, lubed it up and threw it back on. works perfect now. just keep having to use it to break it in. If you have to do this you need to remove a couple of heat shields from underneath the exhaust.......and make sure you have WD-40 (lot of it!) on hand b/c here in WI the salt kills all those undercarriage nuts.

That was exactly my problem as well, but now I can pull the handle all the way up and it doesnt do anything so I'm guessing my cable is snapped.

BTW, your problem could also be a frozen caliper which means that the caliper gets stuck everytime you pull the parking brakes and the only fix is to replace or rebuild the caliper.
before you go replacing your calipers, try spraying wd40 on the calipers as well as the cable like JDM_2ner mentioned.

Hey, 1badnx, after you fixed your e-brake, did you re-adjust your cable to the proper length??? this could be why it isn't working.

haha!! well since we're all on the subject of wonderful e brakes ill tell you my stupid experience. i could kick myself for this really hard. i had my ebrake on for a couple blocks. i had the windows down too, and i didnt hear or feel the brakes on. so maybe it was just a little wierd happening. but i almost shit my pants when i saw the light on. next time i came to a stop i checked to see if they worked and it did. i thought i broke my brakes almost. i went home and told my dad about it, and we decided they should be just fine how they sounded. he told me hes went 3 miles before with it on by accident. i dont think in my car though, i hope not... i guess this must run in the family. owehll ill check more on it tommorow, the car feels like its A OK, it was braking great still. its just i dunno. i hope i didnt do anything.

I never did fix it :o I've been so lazy plus I was spending more time trying to figure out why I couldn't boost my DET for the past couple of months. But now that I got the turbo running again, I will be working on the e-brakes hopefully tomorrow. I'll wd-40 the cable and let you guys know the results.
