I will be running N1 cams with stock sr20ve springs and retainers, will I see significant gains as oppose to switching out the springs and retainers?

I will only be reving up to 7.5k w/ de ecu and safc2.

Any reliability issues?

you can run them to 8k on the stock springs. *** I haven't even installed mine yet lol. I'm still rocking the SR16 cams.

I know of a few folks running N1's on stock valvetrain to 8k for a while without any problems. So you should be good until you can afford the S&R. Or wait and do it all in one shot.

Sorry for high jacking the thread but why sr20ve springs are only good to 8K?If they are stiffer than the N1 cams springs wich sr20ve valve springs have less chances of causing the valves to float.I thought the problem was the lift of the N1cams that will cause the sr20ve valve springs to coilbind.

For me its not worth it...
The power band of the N1 its From 5600rpm to at least 8500rpm
You wont notice the gains...
Also the risk of getting some valves bent...

im with him, other then the bent valves. its safe on stock vavletrain

but i will also say that yes you will peak before 8k. for some this is all they care about. but if your serious about racing... you will want to take them to 8500 or so for the best shift points, then you will never fall below your power band. i shift around 8500 then it brings me right into around 6500. so the springs are great for the 1/4 mile

Valve float is the reason of valve bent. But another danger is, that the even light valve float makes the valves burn. It reduces the engines life. So it's your own risk. If you will be unlucky to misshift and overrew past 9k - there would be a problem...

Just one Q.....

Are u using a higher C/R with the N1 cams or is that std aswell?
