So its a 2002 P12 sr20ve 20v engine, 13000km on the engine. 6 Speed manual p12 trans. Will be running the p12 ecu for now (still waiting on some wiring diagrams to get it started).

The battery is going lower beside the chassis rail, and the filter will be in the corner with a heat shield, just got to make the battery tray.

Previously it was a Sr20det, 290 fwkw. But i got bored and decided i needed a new challenge, and i always wanted a 20v engine.

I need to get a new front lower lip, the old one is cut for the IC, maybe just mesh it for now.

damn that nx loosk mean. isnt it a downgrade from turbo to a 20v?

Couldnt really use 290kw anyway, anything over 180 wkw is not really usable under 100kph, so aiming for 150wkw with this setup that i will be able to use anytime i like.

I just like a challenge, and had wound as much boost into the old engine as i could be bothered.

can you post pics of the motor mounts you made to get that 6 speed in there? Also, is it hydraulic or cable or rod?

EVLNXR, did you get the chance to measure or take pictures of the 20v manifold secondary?

Its cable shift with hydraulic clutch, same as the qr25 b15 box, but with a sr20 bell housing.

I had to make a mount to go on the lhs chassis rail, which is strong, but i may make another one day.

Ive mounted the battery infront of the gearbox, down beside the chassis rail, so i can get the air filter in the corner behind the headlight.

The 20v p12 engine is hard to find, i missed one with 140,000km on it for 650, but that was engine only. I paid 4500 for the engine, gearbox, drive shafts, shifter, full car loom, ecu, ignition switch and key, the primarys and secondary headers, the crossmember and mounts, the accelerator pedal etc. I think this price was ok, considering if you were to pay a wreaker to find such a setup, it would cost way more as they would have to bring in a front cut or complete car.

The factory secondarys are interesting, there is a small cat just after the collector, then a 2.5 pipe down to a 2nd cat behind the antiroll bar. Ive cut the pipe just after the 1st cat, and welded the 3" exhaust on for now, I will make mods to this after i get a base dyno run done.

yea seen those pics, but what about a secondary collector? The factory 20v ones seem to work quite well, although there is a small cat just behind the collector that i have not removed yet.

The bottom end torque is nice, way better than p11 ve.

The 6 speed box is quite close ratio, moving off in 2nd is a snap, and at 100kph, 4th gear is quite spirited in acceleration.

Ive got some ecu issues still, top end power feels a bit flat, but then i used to have a large turbo running 21 psi..... ::)

He didn't get the 2ndary all he had was the upper half of the manifold. We have never seen the 2nd half before lol.

OK, what you need to do is slit that pipe you made down the middle, and put a devider down it to match the primary flange, it looks to be about 300mm from the flange to the collector, which looks to be 2.5 outlet. What you have is essentially ok, but it needs the devider and collector to make them work properly. I would just slit it with a cutoff disc in a grinder, and cut a 2.5mm steel plate to slip inside, then weld it up, then put a taper at the end to make the collector.

The car is on the road and driving. Has excellent torque compared to a p11 ve with stock ecu, but top end could be better. Top end power is odd, as the cam switch is not until 7000, and then it hits a hard cut at 7500. But anything over 5500 rpm and its sounds awful. Ive been manualy switching the cam at 5500, and it sounds and pulls mint.

OBD2 plug still works, and consult says things are pretty ok, just no CEL and power steer pressure switch (have to fit the p12 one to the hose). I havent been able to find the CEL wire from the ecu, and also still trying to work out a fuel pump relay trigger, theres no wire that puts out a signal consistent with a fuel pump signal. Im waiting on a wiring diagram from nissan that should solve this.

The gearbox is great, but is very close ratio, and a lot higher ratio than the p12 i drove a while ago.

I'll look into a aftermarket ecu later, but 1st thing i will spend money on is a HLSD diff head for the box. Nissan NZ/Japan never sold them, so there is no part number, so I will prob get one from GregV, as his price is pretty sharp for a new one ex USA.

Fuel pump voltage is a variable output like some of the Silvias, to stop the pump from trying to flow lots of fuel at idle despite the IDC being so low and having most of the fuel flow being returned to the tank. This was for fuel emissions compliance, as the pressurised fuel is hot and when returned to the tank, can cause excess fuel vapours.
Fuel pump power should be part of the J-I3 loom plug on page 4.

I will trace the CEL for you on Tuesday afternoon
