Ok Guys,
I finally pulled the motor out of the 93 NX. I am preparing to drop in the JDM SR20de. Before i drop the new motor in, I wanna mod a few things. Here are my questions:
1) I want to remove the power steering
I already cut the lined about 8 inches from the rack. Where do i go from here?
2) I am removing the AC. What is the process?
3) I have decided to gut the interior. Where do I start?
I know there are threads on the above topics but i have read them all and they give little actual instrictional information. TIA

ok you can get a manual rack from car-parts.com for like 45$ or you can reroute your hoses back into the resivoier and put a brether on it so the fluided keeps your rack lube

As stated, get a manual rack from a Sentra E.

Just unbolt everything. If you have an FSM, it will show you where everything is. You can still do it without an FSM, but if you don't know what you are doing, I highly recommend getting an FSM.

Start by removing the seats to get some room to work. They pick a spot and start removing. The FSM helps for this as well because it shows you how to undo some of the fasteners used in the interior and it also will reveal some hidden fasteners.
I just stripped the interior from my 944. Just pick a place to start and go for it.

Well, the intrior is gone and the ac is off. Next question still involves the manual steering rack.
The manual steering rack requires more turns from lock to lock, and with the intent to race, i want as tight a steering rack as possible so i want to keep the power one. I am speculating that i would only need to connect one of the lines back to the resovoir and add a breather in order for the fluid to circulate. It that correct? Or!!! Can i drain the rack and grease the hell out of it with axle grease and then close it up completely???? I want to keep this rack if i can. I already cut a few of the lines about 10" from the rack so i'm leaning towards the grease if that'll work.
TIA, Wolf

i know a guy who just cut the hardline took it to a parts store and bought a plug. he then put a bolt in the hose line and put a few hose clamps on it. it drives fine so far without any recirculation. just ripped everything out made sure there was fluid in the rack and plugged the rack up.

When I removed my power steering, I just left 2" of metal on the lines and used a rubber hose and clamped it to the lines so the fluid will still circulate in the rack. I talked to a few people about swapping out the rack with the Sentra E and they told me to use the same rack because it is a close-ratio rack compared to the E rack. I have had no problems with mine.

awesome!!!!!
I am going to plug that puppy up and hope it works forever. Do you think i should top the fluid off? Is power steering fluid gonna cut it ? THANKS AGAIN, Wolf
