well for starters, say you have a JWT ECU tuned for a certain injectors, MAF etc.
Can you use water injection and up the boost without a retune?

with awm injection you really need a tune otherwise you are just richening up your afr's and likely to be losing hp...some ecus have the ability to learn (audi's for instance) and they can just add meth injection, crank up the boost and let it rip but not all cars have that pleasure...I don't believe sr20's are like that...

You will definietly need a retune.....we use meth inj. a decent amount on mustangs and vipers at our shop and seen some positive gains! But its because of the tune, being able to lean out the af's and add more timing in the higher rpms. On a non intercooled 2001 bullit mustang (kenn bell setup) we were seeing 415-420 rwhp, after meth and a good retune we were consistly seeing around 445-455rwhp. And some pretty low inlet temps. we bumped are af's from around 11.6 (shell 92 octane if your wondering) up to around 12.3-12.4 with 21 degrees of timing with the meth inj kit. I know i am not talking about an sr20 here, but the concept still works. Just make sure you get a good tune to go with the kit!!!

i am thinking of going down that road soon but i have a couple ques. ...i have a high CR (11:1) N/A build ,and where i'm form we only have 90 octane fuel , so my question is this which injection kit would best suit my needs , and how safe are the kits answer these, and i have a couple more.

thanx

You can most certainly run it in a high comp engine, I have many customers that run them in their high comp hondas and it works great as an alternative to race gas...much cheaper to make them DD...

I am biased towards snow performance but theres a lot of great companies out there today, coolingmist, aquamist, smc, alkycontrol, etc...

Yea I am currently for about 2+ years now and was originally with smc. Snow allows me to deep discount 5 kits to start on each forum if anyone is interested but I am not here to push sales. I'm here to push what I love on turbo cars. I am an active aa member:).

I know diddly squat about alky injection, but with the rising costs of race gas around here it seems like a good alternative. race recently jumped here from 3.20 per gallon to 4.85.. ouch. I was running RG during track days for extra" engine insurance" but not anymore.

Very interesting. watching this thread.

yea thats what turned me to meth injection as well, i was running c16 day in and day out and at 10 dollars a gallon it was getting crazy...so i switched to meth injection, filled up 93 oct and was good to go...

how are you guys mounting your injectors in your intake piping/intake manifold? Do the injectors come with threaded heads or something?

Most kits come with a tap, so you just drill out the hole, tap it and thread in the nozzle but there are also weld in bungs and plastic bungs available for different applications...

With the deep discount it will be just at 200 I believe for a kit and meth definitely has its risks but with a good failsafe (they have a new version coming out nov2 that will have a gauge so you can monitor flow) and a wideband (if you want) you won't have much to worry about...I ran 65 plus gallons through my evo in a year without a single flaw...many others do the very same thing...
