ACT HEAVY DUTY PP & OEM clutch disc or replacment.

Go with a JWT pressure plate and a 2001 se disc. I have heard nothing but great things from this. Unless you are running 11-12's this will be fine.

Just make sure the clutch you get is designed to handle the power you intend to give it. This rule works both ways, you don't want a clutch that's made to handle 400hp on a car that puts out less than 200. I made that mistake once. I've got most of the major bolt-ons except cams and I have the ACT Stage 1 clutch kit. It's affordable and feels like the stock clutch but has much, much better hold. I agree w/ most people on the forum, if you have the money get a JWT, it's specifically engineered for our cars whereas most clutches use more standardized parts fit together to work w/ our vehicles. Good clutch hunting, peace.

Agree. ACT stage 1 is very nice and holds quite a good amount of LB FT and JWT setups are also quite nice. Can't go wrong with these... No questions on that, but please bloke... don't get too much clutch and don't fall for the wrong design (ceramic disc with weak PP, etc...). If you are "only" racing then think about a 3 puck non-sprung with double diaphragm. Lets just say I have wasted a lot of money due to very bad advice. One bugger sold me a race clutch way overpriced and said "yah, it's perfect for the street". To hell with him and his BS. The other company sold me a crap combo with a weak PP and ceramic disc. They went out of business. :) Yup, all these companies are, and were, in South FL. Sorry blokes, I'm calm now.

there is a local company around here. They are called Star Clutch. They are located in my old hometown of Hueytown, AL. Anyone heard of Davey Allison? The Nascar driver that died in 1993? That was his hometown as well. Anyways alot of tuners and domestic guys use this clutch setup. They were in Turbo and Hi Tech performance a while back installing a clutch on a Grand National.
