NismoB14SX 10-16-2007, 09:51 PM what are you asking? what is the Pioneer model number? I'm lost.
JuanVega 10-16-2007, 10:06 PM i never installed sounds systems before but the guy that was helping my bro out was a moron and i found exposed wires. i dont know if he is missing anything or how to properly set it up.
NismoB14SX 10-16-2007, 10:09 PM take pictures. I'll guide you.
TommyD241 10-16-2007, 10:52 PM I never knew you could bridge speakers. I assume the first 2 items are amps. And I'd also like to know what pioneer 10" sub can handle 1000 watts.
JuanVega 10-17-2007, 10:56 AM well i just asked my bro about the 10" and he said that the guy helping him out said it was 1000watts... NismoB14SX i know you said take pics but im not sure what kind of pics to give you.... *** i just got up maybe i need a few minutes to figure it out
NismoB14SX 10-17-2007, 04:05 PM the bare wires, the wires going onto the amp, anything you think is questionable.

hey Juan,, I just gotta chime in on this ,,, first I want to wish you luck on getting this system up and running... NO SHORT CUTS!!! do it right the first time... :biggthump
I hope this helps you,, oh and I recommend DYNAMAT
The reason I'm giving you a shout out is I want to make sure you know what you have,,, I want to start with the sub,,,Sony does'nt make a 1000watt sub,,, yeah I know it says it on the cone LOL thats a peak number and NO product will withstand peak power for very long it sould tell you the RMS nubmer at the connection .... some sony stuff is great but the wholesale stuff is garbage,,,,, Sony has 2 lines, one is the Speciality Series (great ) can only find it at a Sony dealer,,,, the other line is what you find in Walmart or cheap stereo shops,, learn to read your numbers right so you'll know what you have to start with.. this goes for you 6x9's and Amps
these are what Sony has out right now and just so you know the only thing Sony has changed in the last few yrs are the colors,, pretty much everything else is the same.... BIG numbers and BIG Magnets don't mean squat ,,, anymore LOL

need anymore on Sony let me know,,,,, was a Sony Dealer for yrs or check them out at www.Sony.com
Meaured in watts, the maximum amount of power a speaker can handle under test conditions, using short bursts of input signal, with a narrow frequency range. Sometimes called "peak power," this specification can vary between different manufacturers. The max input power rating is often anywhere between 3 to 5 times the speaker's "Ad Hoc" or RMS rating.
A power rating conforming to "RMS" or "AD Hoc" follows industry-wide accepted specifications. The rating is made under continuous power over a period of time as opposed to short bursts, and is typically a full frequency band width spec. Industry standards usually follow a 20Hz to 20,000Hz frequency band. Other standards used in an RMS rating include distortion and impedance specifications.
Caution should be used when matching various stereo components, as different units use different power ratings. Speakers are often measured in max power ratings, while amplifiers have traditionally been measured using RMS or Ad Hoc ratings.
Sony provides both Max Input Power (or Peak Power) ratings and RMS (or Ad Hoc) power ratings for their amplifiers and speakers.
TommyD241 10-17-2007, 08:49 PM He said the 10" sub was a pioneer. Not Sony, but yeah he must be talking about a peak 1000 watts.
JuanVega 10-17-2007, 10:20 PM man i got so much work to do on this car tomorrow i gotta finish taking it all out
tearoff guy 10-18-2007, 06:48 PM He said the 10" sub was a pioneer. Not Sony, but yeah he must be talking about a peak 1000 watts.
LMMFAO,, my bad,,,, .,, your sooooo right I guess I got blinded buy all the 6x9's.... but Pioneer does'nt make'm that bad either LOL.... sorry just trying to help.. thanks for correcting me.. and I'll pay more attention,,,, I really think my eyeballs where still vibrating..
yodders 10-19-2007, 12:07 AM you guys get all this stuff at walmart? hehe sounds like something i had when i was 16, i dunno where to start really
cd player.....buy a wire harness for the car to hook up to the factor connectors, walmart, target, and any stereo place will have them, if you dont solder them, atleast take the the time to really twist them together and and use electrical tape, i say dont use crimpers cause that crap can come undone if you didnt get a good crimp,so wether save yourself the hassle of pulling the deck out again.....
im confused are thier 4 6x9's or 2, also are the the 2 200w amps running the 6x9's are they 1ch-2ch or what, and another thing how many rca jacks does this cd player have cause that will change up the wirring scheme
i assume the 1000w amp is for the sub
only advice i can give you at the moment make sure your got a the power wire with a big enough fuse at the battery, try to run the power wire on the oppisite side of the car fromt he RCA wires, they will pick up road noise if you dont,
might also need 1.0 farad capacitor, or dont have your system wide open with your head lights on or they will dim when the bass hits hehe
also need to to know how many ohms the sub is and if its a dual or single voice coil
and buy decent wires and connectors, its worth it, and you can always reuse it if you step up to a nicer system
oh and check the grounds, when grounding to the chassis make sure you scrape off any paint where your grounding it, 3 amps you might wanna buy a couple of cheap distrubition blocks for the pwr and ground, and if you dont scrape the paint and make sure its touching bare metal you will get the crap shocked out of you everytime you go to grab the door handle
yodders 10-19-2007, 12:18 AM hmm i looked up the cd player, says 1 set of RCA's for the rear, which will make the wirring alittle more confusing if you wanna use the 2-amps for the 6x9's and still be able to use all the cd-players options, but in any case just ask whatever questions you want and tell me your plans im full of advice, the one thing i do know about cars is audio, ** i got into the engine part of cars i used to build competition systems and what not so i got plenty of advice
