: dyno results for ve-t
nos91 10-23-2007, 11:02 PM Finally got around to dyno my cousin's car. Dyno used was a Dyno Dynamics Dyno.
baseline run we got 247whp 217 tq. I made a minor adjustment on the second run and got 257whp 222tq. Car is still running rich on the low rpms but is steady at 11:1 on the high end. Car was dyno at only 10psi because the boost controller was bad. I think If I had more time to tune and make more changes on the timing map, we would of achieved 300whp easily with just 10 psi. In total we only got 2 pulls because the shop was gonna close and we only paid for baseline runs. I wanted to do a 20psi pull but there was no time. I will post up the dyno chart once I get it scanned. We are using a Apex PFC( From SR20freak) to tune the car. Here's the specs:
DET bottom, Crower rods, JE pistons
VE head
Ported Protech manifold
Garrett GT3071R, HKS wastegate,
I'm aiming for 400+whp at 20psi once we get a new boost controller.
syedthered 10-23-2007, 11:06 PM cool, I was gonna say something about your numbers at 10 psi sounding a bit off, but i guess a bad controller can do that, Damn you controller, damn you! :squint:
good luck with getting a new one, keep me posted I want to know what your set-up will make once a better controller is installed :biggthump
nos91 10-23-2007, 11:11 PM I got a HKS boost controller we are gonna try. Wideband should be here any day now. This turbo spools pretty quick, only at 3200 rpms.
bobbyisking 10-23-2007, 11:17 PM i'd like to see this engine one of these days kou, hehe...

We're heading out to Bakersfield this Sunday. Hopefully we can get it to hook with the slicks we got 24.5x8x13.
ca18 bluebird 10-24-2007, 02:33 AM awesome love seeing ve+t results
hope all goes well after the boost controller is fixed

Did you buy the FC logit software to tune with the laptop? or are you doing this by the commander? If it's by the commander save some money for the software it will make tuning the PFC real quick and painless.
97se-rblown 10-24-2007, 11:50 AM Nice at 10psi you should see just over 300. Post up they dyno graph once you get it fixed.
Matt
nos91 10-24-2007, 08:31 PM what cr are u at???
the pistons we got were for 9.5cr.

I need to order the software. Everything is tuned by the commander right now. The car is not really tuned yet either. We basically used what was on the base map and adjusted the fuel a little. Timing hasn't been touched and is set at 17*. According to the guy at the dyno, there needs to be more timing and lean out the low rpms a bit. We're gonna head back in about 2 weeks and try again at 10 and 20lbs.
STRATTON 10-24-2007, 10:45 PM for 10psi it seems low, considering t25 de's make a lil less whp but aloooot more tq.
stratton.
nos91 10-24-2007, 10:55 PM It's low, but a good start. Hopefully with a better tune I can get the numbers up.
kleensleeper 10-25-2007, 12:22 AM That turbo will make you happy at 29psi.You'll thank me later.
chris200t 10-25-2007, 02:20 AM What size is the waste gate??? Also what is the spec of the 3037 (mostly interested in turbine side)?? My theory is you need a massive flow on the exhaust side of the engine. Very low Back pressure to boost ratio once that cam switches..
iamhappy46 10-25-2007, 07:01 AM You will be just starting to go off right hand side of the compressor graph@20psi depending on what rpm your reving too. You will not be able to run much more boost than that above 6000rpm though.
Low lobes will love the pressure though ;)
HkSBlueBird4u 10-25-2007, 05:44 PM the design of the 14b 16g turbo off mitsus gives everyone better ideas on how ehaust sides of turbos should be... look at the pics an read up youll notice the torquecurve is insane understandbl its smaller then gt30's but with the same idea itll reduce low endlag.
nos91 10-25-2007, 08:13 PM We are using a HKS 40mm wastegate. I'll have to check the specs on the turbo. We only revved to 7500rpms.
Yellow4g63 10-26-2007, 12:42 AM Do you have valve springs? If not keep it at 7500.
nos91 10-26-2007, 03:59 AM The head is stock . I figure 7500 would be safe. My cousin wants to port the head and add valve springs, but that won't be for awhile.
