So a while ago, I was running super rich and posted some pictures of the pink injectors I had on my Avenir. Everyone was saying they were GA16 injectors. However, I was running AFR's in the 9's. The damn thing was running pig rich and sputtering all over the place.

Today, I replaced the fouled plugs and swapped over some purple 370cc injectors. Ran the car, and it ran perfect. My AFR's are in the low 12's. I'm going to fatten it up a bit till I'm in the 11's.

My question is, what the hell are the pink JECS injectors I have? The only thing I changed was the plugs and the injectors. How the hell would GA16 injectors flow enough for a Avenir motor to run in the 9's for AFR? I checked the fuel rail and I had no leaks and had brand new orings on there. Any ideas? Think I should get these mystery injectors flow tested?

Some of the suby turbo injectors if i remember correctly were pinkish.

The pink subaru injectors are top feeds... from the overseas sti. Plus the connectors are different from Nissan....

I say take a picture... did you purchase the motor from an importer? They could be resized by a company... if you want to sell them I'd probably get them flow tested...

From memory, Tomei have pink 550cc injectors.

Also, red could have faded to pink.

If they were GA16 injectors, they could have been leaking fuel from torn orings?

Early Nismo 555 cc injecter were pink. They stopped selling these about 6 years ago or so and started to sell the yellow 555 cc injs

why would there be Nismo 555cc on a Avenir from a importer. Any injector can flow enough ti cause a rich condition if its overdriven or constantly open.

You ask this question like the Japanese guys do not mod their cars.

I see JDM motors with yellow 555cc Nismo and 740cc Nismo injs come in all the time.

I use to get SR16VE motors and I have gotten 2 sets of HKS flywheels off of them with Nismo clutches

I have gotten headers off of SR20DE and Sr20VE motors.

I have found HKS cams in GTIR and Bluebird motors.

I wounder how they got thee.


In Japan they pull the motor out of cars and send them to us. If you are lucky you get some nice parts on the motor.

I aksed that question cause Ive never imported an engine...so sorry...

The injectors just look too much like the GA16/I30 ones to me...

Where are the part numbers? I couldn't find them. All I can find is JECS.

I have a set of GA16DE Injectors if you want to compare. Or quit being lazy and WALK to JWT and see if theyll just flow one to get an idea if youre cheap and dont really care. Or pay the $30 to flow all 4. They can probly do it while you wait if you give Ben a handjob.

Also, I disagree that any injector can flow enough to cause a rich condition. 100% duty cycle is 100% duty cycle. If these are GA16DE injectors, no way could they flow enough for me to run that rich. On my old T25 setup with C1 cams, I would hit 100% duty cycle all the time on cold nights. GA16DE injectors would not be able to flow enough for me to run low 9's AFR on a cold night, even at 100% duty cycle.

All I changed was injectors and plugs and it ran perfect. I'm going to get these flo w tested by JWT.

Again, the rail was not leaking. I took the rail off the intake manifold and no leaks and I had brand new orings on there.

Yeah, they can, but the Wolf ECU thought he had 370cc injectors, so it should run lean per specific MAF voltage. It's not like the ECU went "oh shit, that stupid Chinaman Terrin done put GA16 injectors in, I better max 'em out!"

And shit... :D

flow test them. Thats the only way to answer it. I know terrin is a lazy POS so I wont expect an answer til next year..by then Ill forget and not give a shit :rofl:
