im sure its been answered ** but i cant seem to find it, which cams are best for drag racing N/A i still need to drive on the street, just to take the car to the track
the car is used about 85% strip 15% street
according to JWT, the C2 and C3 cams are daily drivable. They are pretty wild with huge lift and duration and you will have poor but tolerable low RPM drivability.

is there any valve train work needed for C3 cams? how high can the car be revved with a stock valve train and C3s?

You cannot use the stock valve train with the C series cams. You must use the JWT valve springs and ti retainers.

C series require new valve springs
C1s are more streetable than S4s. keep that in mind. Also the C series almost mandate a JWT ecu. Without it you will have like a 20hp loss below 5 grand. with it its only like 5hp lost.

i am using nismo turbo cams on a stock engine just installed them went to the track this weekend without tuning and ran a 14.2@98, 90 + degrees out, im quessing after i tune it it will be 13.8-13.9 stock valves, springs, retainers, rockers. Timming these cams is a whole other story. My goal is to be the fastest all motor sentra in the world so i cant tell you hee hee just kidding

My experience with the s4 cams is that they make power all the way from 4500-5000rpm to the redline (7500rpm).
The down side is when you drive part throttle. The car will buck and surge under very light throttle @ ~2100-2500rpm. So when driving try to stay out of that range. Otherwise they kick ass.
Ive seen some dyno charts of C-cams, and without tuning they dont provide the big numbers one might expect. Plus you have to buy the valve-springs and retainers.
If your trying to go fast NA then buy:
300zx pistons (raises comp to 11:1)
JWT ECU
Custom Short Intake Runner
Strip your car
And the rest of the bolt-ons

I put 20,000 miles on my S4 cams and never had that problem, and I've never heard of anyone else who did. I'd suspect something else was causing your bucking.

You must be confused, the S4's are more streetable.

I'd say JWT C3's or JUN 272's. Both require springs and retainers. Both can be driven on the street.

What do you think it could be then? An injector? Cause ive only noticed this problem after i put in the s4 cams.
When i did my emission test my COx was high put low enough to pass. The guy said it might be an injector running lean. Would a faulty injector cause surging and bucking at a very specific rpm and under light throttle?
Any ideas?
Thanks!

My S3's do that in the 2300-2600 range. They have been in 2 cars now and both cars acted the same. It only happens when you are at steady throttle in that rpm range. If you slowly accelerate and decelerate inside that rpm range it does not happen. Its not that bad so I have never mentioned it. The only time I really notice is in 25mph neiborhoods (3rd gear)
