: Broken Driveshaft retainer clip????

After installing the clutch last time on my NX2K I installed my driver side axle and seemed to be quite far (approx.1/4" from the seal lip face) from the tranny, so I took it out and forced it in few times. Then I have noticed that there is a play if i pull on the axle outwards it moves maybe 1/8" in and out (towards and away) from the tranny.

Now when I drive and turn hard and accelerate it feels like the driveshaft is coming out of the tranny.

My question is, did I damaged the metal retainer pin on the shaft when I pushed it in, what challenges am I facing if I decide to remove the shaft and replace the clip?

Sounds exactly like the last axle install I did. I wouldn't even worry about it as long as you got it in that far, and didn't give up when it got halfway in.

Well the shaft makes SCARY noise when turning (not moving) and when turning hard under power.

Any other ideas??

How did you force it in? If you've found a good way to push it in, I'd like to know.

If you're hearing odd noises, you should investigate, but it might be something else you did during the same install. I wouldn't rul eout the axle being seated incorrectly though.

Maybe just pull it out and check the ring. I doubt you've damaged it any. As for replacing that ring, you might be able to purchase one, and slide it on there some how. It's a very stiff ring though. I don't envy you.
