: Key Fob Battery
CovertRussian 11-01-2007, 11:48 AM Well my key fob battery is pretty much dying. Sad thing is, I bought a brand new Energizer this summer. :(
Well to my luck I was breaking a computer and saw a battery on the motherboard... CMOS one. It is a CR2032 battery and is a bit thicker then the one that is used in the key fob, key fob one is CR2025.
Do you guys see any problems with using the CR2032 battery? I put it in and tried it, it worked perfectly fine :biggthump , but I dunno if there is any long term damage that can be done to the key fob itself etc. :squint:

The only difference between the two batteries, is the lifespan. The CR2032 has more capacitance than a CR2025, so it will last longer. They both offer 3vdc, so there's no real difference, other than size.
On the other coin, the 2025 has a higher discharge current, than the 2032, but only by .1mA, so you're fine. ;)
