ok. i am on the verge of doing a full body make over,on my 98ser, with my foot! my starter died. and i have zero leverage with hand tools on the bottom bolt. the top bolt is loose. i have to work outside and in idaho of all places. liquid wrench is not helping, i douched it plenty of times and no give. and i already broke two sockets. any help will be greatly appreciated. thanks guys.

impact wrench fit? air ratchet probably will.

:confused: :confused: i got the starter unbolted, but it won't come out. i am really having a hard time with this and i don't like leaving my tranny exposed. i have hoses and a brace,and of course the army of emissions wires running around my starter. other than a grenade how can i remove the p.o.s. ?

take out the engine and tranny, grab a baseball bat, and go to work

get a deadblow hammer! one of those rubber ones filled with shot. that should give you the force you need to break whatever rust is holding it in place.

Edit: as for leaving your transmission exposed... the hole the starter fits in only opens up to the clutch/flywheel... no transmission internals

i got it! i tooke the four bolts out of the brace that was hanging it up and it fell right out. new one is in and working great.
