Before I replace my clutch cable I want to try to shoot some lubricant into it (that's what I read on SE-R.net). Have any of you done this, and if so does it work. My cable is a bit stiffer now and makes an annoying sound when I press it. Also, when i disconnect the cable should I do it from the engine compartment side or the pedal side? TIA

Engine side is the area that needs it most.

If you're talking about taking the cable off, then first loosen it from the engine bay, then take it off the clutch arm, then disconnect it from the pedal, and pull the whole thing out.
