Just wondering what kind of air filers are you guys using (in b14's). I'm looking at the K&N cone pop charger (I think its like $50 - but I can't seem to find a new one anywhere for sale... tried most stores in my area, also they couldn't find the part number for a special order...) and also at an AEM cone filter ($55 at drivers image).
I've seen some cheap cone filters at pepboys: an intimidator (APC - american products company) and one at auto-zone (aki-motor... didnt know if i spelled it right) going for under $30. Are they worth it or are they POS filters.
I already have the adapter, just need a second opinion from you guys before I purchase. The stillen is a nice one but its over $120.
I know they wont give me much boost, but I have to replace the stock airbox anyways, plus they make a nice noise ;) lol

Just go to www.performanceintl.com and get a K+N. Unless you want to spend more on a blitz or something I would get the K+N. Get the biggest tappered cone that you can. A 6 inch size should be plenty big for our cars and will also work as a CAI in the future.

That's not it though. From what I saw on that website, those are just the regular pop-in-the-airbox filters, not cone :(
I was looking at this page: http://www.performanceintl.com/shop/products.cgi?comp=kn&make=NISSAN&model=SENTRA&year=1999

Click on the part that looks like this
We also offer a list of K&N Universal Cone Filters
Go to the tapered ones. Those are better.

What is the diameter of the base that you will be mounting it to. You can't just drop a cone filter into your oem box. It won't fit. You could measure the size of the airhorn in the OEM box a cut your box up so that you could make your own WAI. Is that what you want? I was able to use the oem airhorn in the oem box to mount a K+N filter to but it was not pretty. I was just fooling around with it. If you just want a WAI get a Place racing MAF adapter and then buy a cone filter to fit the MAF adapter. Shoes59 is selling one right now. The PR maf adapter only cost about 35 bucks new.

You would want to confirm that size. But if it is then this is the page to look at.
http://www.performanceintl.com/shop/dim.cgi?filter=ROUND%20TAPERED&flange=3%20INCH
Also, click on the picture of the filter and you will see what all the dimensions mean. You have a lot of choices. Basically, all the filters in this section have a 3 inch flange. The base size, length and top size all vary. Get at least a 6 inch long filter. Here are some examples. http://www.performanceintl.com/shop/caps.cgi?filter=ROUND%20TAPERED&flange=3%20INCH&dim=BASE%3A%206%20INCH%20~%20TOP%3A%204-5%2F8%20INCH&length=6%20INCH&&style=CENTERED%20%28FILTER%20MOLDED-IN%20VELOCITY%20STACK%29

Measure to make sure it isn't going to hit anything.

Also, go down to LOWES and buy a 3/4 piece of aluminum and cut it to length and bend one end into a "L" the ends and drill some holes in both ends. Use one of the oem bolts at the bottom and then put a longer bolt thru the bottom of the maf and attach the other end to that. Use this to hold up the MAF and keep it from moving around..
