So I searched around, but was not able to find a definite answer for this. The speedmeter and tach work just fine, but the odometer and tripmeter do not. Should my first step be replacing the cluster?
Also, if I do go ahead and replace the cluster, is there any way to mod the mileage to make it as close as possible to the car's current mileage?

There are gears that spin the odometer but i am not sure what specificly drives them. I would assume it would be some sort of motor but i am not sure.
I think you can just replace the odometer and trip IIRC. I tried to turn the one i have and i could not get it to go backwards but it can go forwards.

Anyone else???? This odometer issues seems to be a mystery. I too, am assuming that simply replacing it will solve the problem, but I just want to make sure.

I have the symptom, my speed and tach work just fine. The odometer and tripometer do not work. I moved to VA from FL and it gets rather cold in VA, when it is cold (around freezing temps) they will work for about 8 miles or so and then stop working. I have not taken the cluster out to investigate, I may do that this weekend.
