: fueling not doing soo good, any ideas as to why
ragt20 11-11-2007, 06:35 AM hi guys, as per this thread, SR20VE Primera (http://www.sr20forum.com/sr20ve-sr16ve/218790-sr20ve-primera-gtse.html#post2173209)
any ideas as to why the fueling would be so bad? as mentioned in there am using a 16ve ECU, maf and Dizzy, the rest is all 20ve stuff....would it be something simple and obvious that is wrong?....
or is it a case I ned to start looking at getting something to properly map the fueling, ie Calum ecu, emanage etc.....
just poking here but is the injector size the same as the 16.....cause if the 20 is bigger [ which i think it is] then the fuel map for the 16 being more aggressive would hurt u
ragt20 11-11-2007, 12:34 PM had a search on injector sizes and have reliabley found that they are the same size on the 20 and 16ve...
ragt20 11-11-2007, 12:54 PM hmm the search button is my friend....
when searching for the injector sizes also found this, SR20VE running 16VE Gear (http://www.sr20forum.com/sr20ve-sr16ve/169882-sr20ve-vs-sr16ve.html#post1643668)
looks like bigger injectors and getting 16VE cams in is the order of the day..
hachi_boroku 11-18-2007, 11:29 AM I've addressed the issue of running an SR16VE ECU on an SR20VE a few times. You can do it, but it won't be right. Yes, the injectors are the same size but each cylinder has 100cc more displacement, so in fact you need more fuel to be injected. Also, the timing of the injection and spark are less than ideal, given that the rod ratio is so different.
What kind of fuel economy are you getting?
ragt20 11-18-2007, 12:44 PM fuel economy isn't bad at all, but would think that would be the case anyway as its running lean ...
got some 370cc injectors will stick them in and see if they improve things....
stracyznski 11-18-2007, 02:57 PM I've not had any problems with mine. However I'm running SR16 cams with 333cc injectors. I've also been toying with the idea of using 370cc injectors with a an SAFC to tweek a bit more power out of her...

hmm interesting for some reason thought you already had the 370cc injectors....

Don't waste your time. The stock VE injectors have plenty of headroom with SR16 cams.

agree,
with 370cc inj's and franklin s2's im only on 70% duty on WOT

No mate. 333cc injectors.
My set up is: SR20VE, 333 injectors VE MAF, SR16VE ecu, SR16VE cams and SSAC header. Interesting point about your print out is the power delivery curve profile as almost the same as mine. With your cams switching though the MSS and earlier then the stock SR16 setting I expected to see the curve on your print out to start climbing closer to 5000rpm...
ragt20 11-18-2007, 05:19 PM you got your graph scanned in yet Al...would be interesting to compare...

Just posted it G. > Stracyznski's VE (http://www.sr20forum.com/sr20ve-sr16ve/219731-stracyznskis-ve-dyno-results.html#post2181847)<
It's pretty much the same as your's including the dip in power just before 5800 revs...

just seen it, as mentioned on that thread, top results if the graph is defo in WHP...if not...then the similarity is more than a coincidence re the graphs looking the sameish...
