Compressed air with a blow gun makes cooling a lot faster. Also, using gas would be a great idea.

slow and steady wins the race...tack and cool tack and cool is the best method with the flux....

any updates?

Not going to matter with metal that thin. It'll stop glowing within seconds... By the time you grab the air nozzle, it'll be cool enough to start again...

my computer has been offline for a week due to a virus, but i still haven't done anything in the meantime. i spent last sunday clearing everything out of the engine bay and marking the holes i needed to not weld. hopefully this weekend i can make some more plugs and get to welding.
