I use it every oil change. I used to have a GA16 as a DD and the engine was tired so I tried it. The Engine Restore gave it back the missing power. It used to last about 2100 or 2200 mile and then I could feel the engine get tired again till I changed the oil. I sold that car but I still use it in my SE-R. I have over 205,000 miles on my SR20DE and it keeps the oil a lot cleaner between changes, the engine runs quieter, has more power and gets better mileage. I don't care what other people think, it works for me in high mileage engines.

Use Lucas instead - it's more expensive, but it comes in regular and synthetic blends and it works like a champ!

They also make additives for tranny, gas, and power steering too and they are the bomb

I have had a couple of mechanics tell me that the restore is good stuff. The lucas is more of a THICK oil that a treatment. The restore will ''restore'' your seals/rings

used it in my tired ga16i in my b12 then aain all ga16i engines are tired from the factory.

anyway i noticed it worked because you can feel small mods in a light car with NO power and it must have filled the nics and scratches like the comercial says because the car picked up some pep for sure

I heard good and bad reviews of that engine restorer.

You can also use Seafoam. I heard great things about it.

I used some on my old Altima that was on its last leg. It seemed to help. I was getting some white smoke when I would start the car. That stuff helped with the smoke and restored a little bit of power.

Did the engine feel like that before you used Restore? That is, did you change the oil with the stuff and not feel a difference?

seafoam is more of a cleaner, lucas seems to quiet my head noise (still not sure if its the chain or a lifter, but i think its the chain) its been a hot minute since I used Restore, It seemed to run better when i put it in. I think ill give it another shot on my next few oil changes, but i have a feeling my motor is going To die in the next 10,000 miles. IM at 210,000 good compression but the head noise is getting worse and worse.

some one should start a subsection for product reviews...have people sign up to test certain products.....

There are many "snake oil" products on the market. I don't know if this is one, but I've never heard any data to back up it's effectiveness or safety. To be fair, I haven't looked. :)

This stuff claims to "restore" compression by "restoring" the cylinder walls. The true test of that would be a simple before and after compression test. I think a follow-up (way after) compression test would also be interesting.

Another factor for consideration- If this stuff is supposed to "fill in" the worn metal of the cylinder walls, how does it stick there? What would stop it from sticking to the rest of the engine internals? Is this stuff sludge in a bottle?

yea the only reason i used restore was cause it wasnt one that said it was perminiate and you did have to keep using it.

i used it in my 86 samurai, i dont think id put in my sr20. if i had issues that i felt that restore would help....i would rag the engine out as much as possible until i saved up and put in another motor

I think the build up in my motor is what keeps it running strong:biggthump

Just like the old saying "if it ain't broke don't fix it"

on a side note i think if kingo frock has good compression but a head noise at 200K then he sould put in a new hydro tensioner and make that baby hit 300

I agree with Swiss... our manual says that it is not preferred to use any additives in our engines. Plus the fact that the liquid repairs scratches/holes makes me believe that this stuff gets stiff at some point in time, so what happens to the access buildup then? Most likely Sludge.

I personally never used it, so I cannot say if it's good or bad though, but I will show and tell something else.

Here is a picture of my BBQ grill, she had about 100k miles on the clock at picture time. Either the previous owner didn't know what oil changes were, or they used lots of similar additives.

With that in mind, who wants to be the test dummy? :D
