My starter finally crapped out and I'm trying to get it taken care of this weekend. Does anyone locally have one and willing to help me out? I really don't want to go with the autozone crap and wouldn't mind having a knowledgable person giving me a hand if the price is right. I already called Andreas and he can get me the starter but not for saturday.
BTW the starter lasted 168k miles with teaching the GF how to drive stick and a maf problem which kept stalling the car. My point is this thing got the piss beat out of it twice as bad and still lasted pretty long:)

Thanks for all the offers guys! I decided to get the starter from Miko and he won't be able to get it to me for this weekend. So I'm going to do it next weekend and either borrow a vehicle or just push start my car for the week!!!
Everyone is telling me to stay away from the auto zone starters!

Now I'm so confused?
Do I get the autozone starter (it does have limited lifetime warranty), get one from mark or order one from Miko?
I have no clue!!!

Look i work At Autozone, Limited Life time warranty means at AutoZone, As long as you own that car you will get the part of free. So for the Smart people like myself who keep buying the same kind of car, I Keep getting new parts for free as long as you take them off first.

Steve I did the swap on saturday. Took only an hour!!! You pointing out the bolts was a big help. I have the old starter if you still want it. You can swing by my house and grab it or I can bring it down to the shop one day.
There was a reman bosch in the car which was strange since I didn't put it in and the car only had 60k miles when I bought it. The wire with the clip was broken. I would assume the starter is fine and that wire just needs to be solered back on.

Figured I'd bring this one back up. I just went to start the car and the same crap just happened! I turn the key and get a single click. This time I was able to turn the key off and on quickly and the car started. I don't know if the "new to me" starter is now crap or what. I do need a new battery so I'm grabbing one of those this weekend. I will take off and clean up the negative wire while I'm at it. Hopefully this fixes my problem! I will try and take a peek at the wiring on the starter itself, maybe that's just loose? Anyone got any other idea's?
Anyone know where I can get a decent cheap battery? I'm talking around $50. Everyone I see is like 70-90 bux!!??!?
