While cruising down the freeway last night my dashlights beginning blinking off and on .... then my radio shut down (although some of the lights were still lit) ... then the engine starting acting as if I was running out of gas (I had a full tank). I turned the headlights off and the engine ran fine ... for a while, anyway. Next thing I know I was costing along with no power at all. I left the car overnight and returned this morning. Got in the car and it started right up. Drove about 5 miles and then it started all over again. Sat around for an hour or so, started it back up and managed to get it back home. If the car sits for a while it has full power, but that only lasts for a while.
So here I sit ... wondering what the f*** is wrong with my car. :(

Easy job to replace. Just a little time consuming with the belts and crap

Alternator is fried. You were running on battery power until the battery could no longer provide enough current to spark the engine and/or power ECU, etc.

Well, I was praying it wasn't the alternator, but that's what it was. You guys were right, although I was hoping you were wrong. :p
In ordered a new one through my local dealership, but they shipped it somewhere else, so now I gotta wait even longer. Two weeks without my SE-R ... I'm going through some serious withdraw.

should have just gone to like an autozone or kragen.. or something.. they usually have the calsonic brand which is oem on our cars.

Are they're prices cheaper than the dealership?
