: Running into Probs
Joes97SR20 07-16-2002, 11:24 AM Heres the deal..For the past two days we have been trying to start my car..We just finished the turbo install..Everytime we try to start the car the cylinders will get flooded with gas, the only way to stop this is to disconnect the fuel pump..Then the car will run but shut off after all the gas is drained out...(She only goes to about 500rpms) We think it might be the injectors that are shoot...So my question is. We are going to put the stock injectors back in to see if thats whats wrong, now would I use my stock ecu or my JWT ecu with the programs and take my AFC and make it run rich? But I talked to someone and they said the AFC and the JWT ecu are fighting each other...The only thing is I didnt connect the maf sensor yet for the AFC so it cant be adjusted it only gets read outs of the car....We really dont know what to do after this any suggestions would be great...We are so close!!!!
92SE-R 07-16-2002, 01:12 PM Read the how not to do a turbo install thread. Run the car with the big injectors and ECU all motor first. Make sure the fuel management runs right. THEN put the hardware on. Putting on the hardware on and diagnosing that is easier than diagnosing engine management and driveability problems.
Joes97SR20 07-16-2002, 01:32 PM To late for that...
civicdragon 07-16-2002, 01:48 PM The injectors might be faulty or your not getting any spark to ignite the fuel...
SERprise In WV 07-16-2002, 03:34 PM This is a silly one, but it gets us all eventually:
Check to make sure you don't have the fuel lines reversed. It got me. It will get us all, in due time.
Maybe that is it, maybe not. But...it's worth checking. :)

Where were you an hour ago when I was trying to get you on AIM. I was going to ask you if you thought it was the fuek lines, and to help out Joe! ;)

art_from_ct 07-16-2002, 03:56 PM I suggested the fuel line problem to Joe yesterday. I was informed that the fuel lines were not disconnected from the rail during the install of the 370 cc injectors.
There was some confusion as to to something relating to the fuel pump. I guess a walboro hi flow from a tsi was tried but did not work. So then there was some question as to the hoses connecting the old fuel pump back up.
My suggestion was to disconnect the Apexi S-AFC to get the car to run first.
MarkSR20 07-16-2002, 04:05 PM I figured it out:
200sx's and t28's dont mix to well.
Well it is either that or luck is not on our side. Let me know how it runs tonight and give me a call. Check the fuel pump again and the injectors. They must be stuck open or an electrical problem. Good luck and call me!
Mndgy 07-16-2002, 05:02 PM try throwing the apexi out the window.......:D
no really, check spark plugs and wires, cap and rotor. electircal sheit.
as SERprise In WV says check to see if the fuel lines are reversed.
MAF properly grounded...?
Joes97SR20 07-16-2002, 05:18 PM MY IM is Joes97sr20 if anyone wants to talk to me directly. Thanks you
Andreas Miko 07-16-2002, 05:34 PM Check your Inj seals. Thats the problem. Heres what you do. pull the fuel rail out of the car, leave the fuel hoses on the rail and turn the key to the on position. If you see fuel leaking out the side then you forgot to put the seals in or the old seals are bad. If you need help call me at 8:00 pm EST. 305-598-7310.

Joes97SR20 07-17-2002, 09:20 AM Thanks for everyones replies. Lastnight we didnt touch the car so hopefully today we'll get back on it before my buddy goes on his vacation... Andreas if I have any questions I will give you a call later this evening..Thanks anymore ideas would help too
Low612 07-17-2002, 03:36 PM I would lean more towards the o-ring seals on injectors. if you have a fuel pressure gauge you can see if your fuel pressure drops quick after car is turned off. it should hold pressure for 20-30 minutes.
