Man....my B15 throws this SES Light/code like once a week everytime I clear it!!

Its a Fuel Tirm/Mixture Too Lean (Bank 1-obviouly LOL)
It'll throw while cruising at normal highway speeds, etc not while Im romping on it or revving it high, etc etc. I hate OBD II :D

Ive done the following:
cleaned the MAF,
replaced the Air Filter,
Did a full tune up (plugs, wires, cap, rotor)
Replaced Knock Sensor (w/ another used one)
verified timing

any other idears???
I run 87 piss octane fuel. BUt that shouldnt matter, should it?

have you tried running 89 or 91? TPS? bad O2 sensor?

hell no!! That shits expensive!!!!!

TPS prob wouldnt do it.... Bad O2 should throw more codes. It may be another bad knock sensor....but idk. Just tryin to see what else is possible

OEM Bosch O2 sensors are around $60 at Kragen or Autozone. I never get my O2 sensors from Nissan, they're twice the $ and they are exactly the same down to the markings and stamped numbers! :biggthump

a bad knock sensor would throw a code (not a MIL), so if it's not giving you that code, then it's something else air/fuel related. I'm thinking it's your O2. My P10 wasn't throwing a code for the O2 last time before I smogged it, but I changed it out anyway, and it ran a lot cleaner.

yep. guess I'll have to look into that. It actually did throw a knock sensor code saying it was malifunctioning at one point. P0325 or some shit...dont recall exactly. So thats why I chnaged that. I guess I'll look inot the O2 sensor.

Replace the MAF? Once the B15 MAF is going bad, you can't just clean it to fix it. I've got a buddy with this problem, and after researching, seems that replacing the MAF is the only solution to P0171. He hasn't done it yet ***. He took it to the dealership and they told him that the car was fine. ???

hmm. thats the first time Ive heard of that. I guess i could test the maf first. The other thing Ive been told is the rear O2 Sensor. I know thats a problem w/ P11 and B15 as well.

Weird thing is the light went away by itself :melonscratcher: I hate OBD II. Its nice but, I'd take a nice B13 back any day of the week :)

I recently had the same code...it was 2 bad o2 sensors. Since I had just bought it from a dealer, they replaced both at no cost to me :D But yes, there was only one code.

check for air leaks before anything

yep Im gonna inspect my O2 sensors. i think if it were the MAF it would be more consistent. Eventually the O2 will throw more codes as it did on my buddys P11 so I think Im getting to that point LOL.

The rear one is the expensive one too!! Dammit!

I also have a b15 2.0 and same code but for me it was the MAF not the 02 sensors

hmm. so far Ive heardf more MAF issues than O2 sensor Issues.

My SES Light went out by itself, so Im gonna ride it out to see what the next set of codes will be and go from there. In the meanwhile, Im keeping my eyes out for a cheap MAF.

In the meanwhile, Im keeping my eyes out for a cheap MAF.Mine also goes on and off by itself and after taking it to a dealer who knows what they're doing, it was determined that my problem was a MAF and not the O2 sensors like the other dealership thought  This is for people who use the "search" button in the future

damned MAF's

Did you get a replacement one? What did you use?

Ive read the P11 guys were having similar problems and replaced their MAFs w/ one from an I30, apparently its a direct fit. I can only assume a 2000+ P11 MAF is the same as a 2000+ B15/SE MAF?

Any thoughts on that? Either way, i need to actively start looking for a replacement MAF...

There's the Maxima MAF. Not sure exactly which one, but it's on sr20, a couple B15 guys posted about it.

LOL
I30 is to Maxima as G20 is to Sentra (okay, I'm a dork!)

What's the MAF code/part #? I may be hitting up a couple junkyards in the next couple days.

for real?? The Maxima MAF will work the same? Im pretty sure the connectors are different.

I think youre thinking the Maxima and J30 are the same. N60/N62? IDK

It gets confusing...LOL

nope, Nissan changed the MAF on the 2000+ Maximas and I30's, it's not the N60 and yes it does have a newer type connector

had I known this a week ago I could have gotten you a MAF off of a 00-01 Maxima at the S.B. pick a part. I snatched a Place Racing MAF adapter off of it and didn't take the MAF. Might still be there?
